The photo I have chosen for this week's Around The World Contest is a picture of a Buddhist donation ceremony in Myanmar. This ceremony is called Shinpyu-Natha Donation in Burmese.

Shinpyu is the Burmese term for a novitiation ceremony in the tradition of Theravada Buddhism, referring to the celebrations marking the sāmaṇera(novitiate) monastic ordination of a boy under age 20.
