My Go-to Ulam In Boarding House: Sautéed Hotdog in Onion and Banana Ketchup
I am back with a different type of blog. I don't usually post this kind of content, but I want to share this simple recipe of my go-to ulam in our boarding house.
Living independently is hard, and one reason why is when you have to think of what you should eat for your meal knowing that no one will cook for you. I like cooking, but sometimes I don't feel doing it because you have to prepare a lot of things and I don't really feel confident with my skills.
So, for now, let me share this very simple recipe that you can also do while you are at home.
Ingredients:
- Hotdog
- Onion
- Ketchup
- Black pepper
- Oil
It is very simple because it's like sauteing and frying only recipe. But I didn't really expect to have this taste and I thought of sharing it here.
At first, you have to cut the hotdog and onion into pieces. You can put more hotdogs but I only use one since I am the only one that will eat. I also use one onion for this recipe.
Then next, prepare everything that you will use and turn on the fire until the pan is hot enough.
You can also start putting oil or butter for this but I use oil, I think it's better to use the latter to give more aroma and taste.
Next one is to saute your onion until it's showing a bit of brownish then put your hotdog.
Fry it a bit and then put your banana ketchup into the pan. The amount of ketchup will depend on you but I put more into this blog so it will cover all hotdogs.
After that, put the black pepper to add more flavor into it. This will vary on your taste preference.
And then it's ready to serve!
I want to put an evaporated milk next time so it will taste and look like a sauce in a spaghetti because my mother always cook something like a sauce and it really tastes good.
Sometimes, it is fun to cook and experiment for a different recipe until you find the perfect combination of the ingredients. I know that this recipe is just simple, but knowing these kind of simple recipes will save your life in living independently.
It's so delicious. We also tried this in our house. 🤗
