First 2 Days of Face-to-Face Classes

Our first face-to-face classes started last Monday and Tuesday (October 24 and 25). So I prepared myself for Saturday and the things that I will need. It is because I have to move out of our dormitory near the school.

The monthly payment for the dorm is quite expensive because we only have 2-day face-to-face classes, although we can stay there for the whole month. I still went home yesterday. The cost of living is very expensive but my budget was almost exact, I might have a separate blog for it.

We went to the dorm on Sunday, I was with my old batch mate, and he was with me in the room. We decided to go there earlier than the other classmates because we wanted to choose the best spot in the room. We arrived in the dorm near the Alfamart — a public market in the Philippines.

The dorm exceeded my expectations—somehow. The first thing that I looked at was the comfort room. To my surprise, it was my first time not feeling disgusted in a public comfort room.

The dormitory has two comfort rooms on the second floor (where we live) and one washing room for washing clothes. There is a huge space in the living room, there’s a study and kitchen area. I would say I am happy with the place, well, it is kind of expensive so it must be good.

Of course, I had the opportunity to choose the best spot for a double-deck bed. Since it is only a bed space, we are six in the room, it is also not a narrow room compared to other rooms. It is good that the other four tenants in our room are our old schoolmates so we’re good.

This is what the room looks like, sorry for being messy! The space outside the room is way better than what I would expect. It still has a huge space.

Fast forward to the first day of school, Monday. We were supposed to have an exam on our major subject but it was postponed as announced by our professor. I don’t know if I will be glad or not, but that subject is very difficult to the point that most of us can’t finish a quiz.

Anyway, the first day was awkward because I don’t have any close friends except for my old high school classmates. They have close friends though, but I have not. My introverted side of me is scared to talk to anyone.

It was awkward because they were hugging each other when they met. Meanwhile, I am just standing on the other side and talking to my old schoolmates while feeling nervous because they might go with their close friends.

Nevertheless, we still have class picture in our temporary room.

We are close to each other (literally and physically) which is against the school rules and instructions so we decided not to post this on social media…I hope they won’t see this.

As you will notice, some of us are wearing orange, because our school has a color coding, and the engineering department is assigned to wear orange shirts or shirts that have a touch of orange if we don’t have a uniform yet.

By the next day, Tuesday, we played badminton as part of our practicum on physical education. I have no opportunity to take a picture because my professor will be mad at me if she caught me using my phone while in class. But it was a fun experience.

By this time, some of my classmates are starting to approach and talk to me, so I am doing the same.

We went home with heavy rain, but having classmates talking to me is still progress. I hope they will be my friends soon!

Shit, you made me miss college for a bit! 😆 Your dormitory is a bit small and compact for 6 students. Is it just walking distance to your school then?

Also, the number of students inside your classroom is way too many!

Anyways, hopefully you'll make loads of new friends soon...and invite them here on Hive. Bwahaha.

Thank you so much @anonymous02 for sharing the e-book titled "My Daily journal". I am a newbie here in the hive and I guess this would be very useful. I will surely get a copy of this and find time to finish reading it.

I feel you with a large number of students in a room, we were also like that way back in my college days.😅

Anyway, I look forward to reading about your future blogs.🥰

I remember the room we have when I was working in the mall, we are three and we only have one double deck bed. I stayed below with my friend and the other one above. Kapag ganito dapat close mo talaga mga room mates mo hehehe.

Wew! college life, nakakamiss din kahit masakit din sa ulo hehehe
