In these afternoons of rest, I have completely resumed the routine of reading, so this activity merged with my afternoons of coffee and snack before an eventual short nap to recharge my energy.

I recently commented in another post, that I had eliminated sugar from my daily meals, but although it was still difficult to tolerate my delicious coffee without sweetening it, I was getting there a little by mixing it with some aromatic spices. It's definitely all a matter of habit.

Every now and then, I violate the self-imposed rule and give myself a treat, adding a touch of sugar to my coffee, without abusing it, inventing combinations, tasting a good coffee with milk, very frothy as I like it, and with touches of cinnamon or chocolate, which are some of my favorite additives.

Also tasting some cake or cookies, which are my favorites for my snacks with coffee... because definitely, a good coffee must be accompanied by a good dessert.

A few days ago my son-in-law had his birthday, and from his delicious chocolate cake, they saved me an extra piece and took it home. I reserved it for an afternoon snack, in the company of my big cup of coffee and of course, a good book.

Afternoons without coffee are heavy, admittedly, and my coffee lifts my spirits and chases away my laziness, letting me enjoy the lines of some interesting bibliography. On this occasion, I advanced a few pages of the wonderful work: "Twilight", by the writer Stephenie Meyer, that even though I enjoyed it on the screen, it is a succulent mouthful to immerse myself in its lines, equally intense and interesting.

My afternoons of coffee and snacks are daily, I enjoy them very much, especially to feel the aroma of coffee flooding my house, it is a feeling that inspires me to work with more energy the analysis and understanding of the text I am reading.

I say goodbye until another opportunity to tell more beautiful stories in the company of a good coffee.
