Two Open Mics: April 28 2024

After the rainy start to the day yesterday we went to not one but two open mics, and I was done by the end of the day.. 😄 It's weird to think that you play two or three 45 min sets through, and a couple of those open mics with four or five songs wear you out..

I do think one of those Shandys might have had something to do with it. As a non-drinker they make me tipsy very quickly, which isn't too bad after I've been playing, but not before and I got a little worried at the second place that I might mess up the bass line to "You're the one that I want", but I didn't need to worry.

We did "Down Under", "Super Trouper", "Daydream Believer" and "You're The One That I Want", plus "Kids in America" in the second place.

Following are a few shots from the first venue, the Coopers Arms in Hitchin. I love those "updated" paintings everywhere. Our host Mark is on the right there; his gig on Saturday got cancelled and therefore ours too.

Moving on to the second pub, The Marquis of Lorne in Stevenage, I only took videos at that place and only one picture of Kev, but I was pretty proud that he wasn't too blurry for a change.. Man, he is a right fidget when he plays.. lol

Ich glaube schon, dass eines der Radler etwas damit zu tun hatte. Als Nichttrinker machen sie mich sehr schnell beschwipst, was nicht so schlimm ist, nachdem ich gespielt habe, aber vorher schon, und ich ein wenig Sorge, dass ich den Bass zu „You're The One That I Want“ vermasseln könnte, war aber alles in Ordnung.

Wir haben „Down Under“, „Super Trouper“, „Daydream Believer“ und „You're The One That I Want“ gespielt, plus „Kids in America“ im zweiten Pub.

Es folgen einige Aufnahmen vom ersten Veranstaltungsort, dem Coopers Arms in Hitchin. Ich liebe diese „aktualisierten“ Gemälde überall. Unser Gastgeber Mark ist dort rechts; Sein Auftritt am Samstag wurde abgesagt und damit auch unserer.

Weiter ging es zum zweiten Pub, dem Marquis of Lorne in Stevenage. Ich habe dort nur Videos und nur ein Bild von Kev gemacht, aber ich war ziemlich stolz, dass er zur Abwechslung mal nicht zu verschwommen war. Er ist ein rechter Zappelphilip wenn er spielt.. lol
