What is leadership: It's a process by which an individual can direct, guide and influence the behavior and work of others towards accomplishment of specific goals in a given situation. Leadership can also be seen the ability of an individual to induce the surbordinate to work with confident and zeal. It is the potential to influence the behavior's of others. And according to Keith Dawis, "Leadership is the ability to persuade others to seek defined objectives enthusiastically. It is the human factor which binds and motivate a group towards goals".

These are some important characteristics of leadership;

1. A leader is involved in shaping
   and molding the behavior of a
   group.
2. Leadership is situation bond.
3. Leadership is an interpersonal
   process as well as a group
   process.

   There are various roles and responsibilities that are perculiar and specific to a leader. As a leader you must demonstrate your ability to live up to these responsibilities on a daily basis.
4. Inspiration and motivation: As a leader you must drop the idea of doing everything yourself and motivate and inspire others to complete tasks and reach objectives. Delegating some of your duties as a leader is important in inspiring your followers to give their best and work towards objectives diligently
   2.setting of example: As a leader, you should live an examplaiy life for your followers. Some time you set an example through your hard work, delegation and optimism.
5. Communicating the vision: your vision as a leader organises all of your followers effort, you must let your followers know what you want to achieve in the long term and you must explain how their daily activities related to that long term vision.
6. Setting of priorities: By setting priorities you organise your followers to work and give them a sense of orderly direction.

A leader accepting this responsibilities and many more attached to leadership position to acquire greatness not just for himself but for his or her followers.
