Tofu With Palm Sugar and Ginger Sauce
My thoughts are making my cheeks blush. I'm happy to remember the tenderness of someone I love so much.
From the kitchen as warm as the woods in the morning sun, delicate ingredients beg me to be served on the dining table for a bowl of attention.
The sweetness of palm sugar and fragrance reminds me of the sweetness of life from someone's presence. It is a priceless right.
This time I will serve Tofu With Palm Sugar and Ginger Sauce. The softness of the tofu brings a soft touch of affection. Sweet palm sugar brings a smile. The warm ginger flutters the chest with infinite gratitude.
Finding Types of Tofu that are Softer and Larger than Usual.
Actually, I've been wanting to make this recipe for a long time which is inspired by Chinese recipes on the internet. Then for the first time, I was able to make this recipe (although maybe not very similar because I adjusted to my taste).
I'm looking for the best type of tofu I can get for this recipe, although I haven't quite found the right tofu yet. I found a softer type of tofu with a larger tofu size than the usual tofu I bought at the market.
Indeed, this time I was walking in a different market than usual. I smiled at the traditional tofu seller who I thought was a treasure! What an ingredient worth finding.
The softer textured tofu is perfect for desserts. Meanwhile, tofu which has a slightly hard texture is more suitable as a side dish with a savory taste.
So this time I was really excited to make tofu in palm sugar and ginger sauce for the first time. How to make this dessert is also fairly simple. We just need to cook the tofu in palm sugar and slices of ginger. Do you guys have a familiar version of this? Let's see together.
THE INGREDIENTS
- Tofu for about 200-300 grams
- Palm sugar, 100 grams or more, according to your taste
- Water, 250 ml
- Ginger, about the size of a thumb, thinly sliced
- Pandan leaves or vanilla essence
- A pinch of salt
HOW TO MAKE IT
STEP 1
STEP 2
STEP 3
STEP 4
The end result is quite mind-blowing. I feel amazed at myself for having managed to make this dessert with the tofu I found in the market.
Although the type of tofu that I use still feels strong like the type of tofu I use for side dishes, I am quite satisfied with the overall taste. It's quite tasty and my family members can afford it, which means the taste of this dessert is worth it.
In the future, maybe I will make my own version of tofu which will have a softer texture with a lighter taste and is suitable for dessert.
A bowl of warmth that tastes sweet, perfect for serving after breakfast or dinner. :)
Thank you for reading my blog and reblog if you want my blog this time worthy of reading by others.

Now I need to make this. Your poetic way to describe food is inspiring and heartwarming. I happen to have all of these ingredients in my fridge. I have fresh pandan leaves in the freezer and never used them ever in my life. Now I can try. I think I even have palm sugar but I have to search for them. Thanks for the recipe. It seems very comforting to eat.
For the general tofu, maybe the taste will be weird a little bit. But ginger water will help them better :)
So, how do you use pandan leaves if not for food? Hmm, pandan leaves just show the best result for the type of desserts.
But I've heard about fried chicken wrapped in pandan leaves increases the taste. So maybe we can try on another fried food, with a vegan version too.
That was comforting to eat for sure. The more you get smooth tofu, that's better
I will be trying something soon.😊
Your "cold hands" touch is not only on the variety of food recipes that you make. But, also from the aesthetic point of view of serving food.
Appearance is one of the important points of food presentation and that's what star restaurant chefs do. You are on par with those best chefs.
Do you also have your own restaurant, Miss @anggreklestari?
I love to cook and write poems. :)
I have a plan to start my own restaurant one day. Just need more time and skills to get there. :)
Your cooking skills are already excellent and if you start early, it will be very good for your development.
Look, what has to develop again...? Your cooking has flown everywhere as well as your writing skills.
I'll stop by your restaurant sometime. Let us know if you have started it. Hurry up, the food business always has good prospects. Your potential regular customers are already here. I'm in Indonesia too and the best food in the world is in our country. That's the confession of my friends who have visited here.
Thank you, Plant Power Team :)

I was just talking to a friend and telling her how much I miss eating tofu and then I saw your blog! it made me miss tofu even more.
Didn't you find tofu around you? I thought you can easily find it in the market
I can but i have been really busy lately and I don't even have time to cook sometimes!
Ah! We have something like this in Thailand as well but we used really soft silken tofu instead firm tofu and we sprinkle the crispy bun over the ginger soup, they are so yummy and refreshing! 😀
Ah, Ya! I need silken tofu but didn't find it in the market here. I think I should make it for myself from soybeans curd :)
Yay! 🤗
