The Excitement Of Harvesting Shallots On The Weekend
Hi, gardening lovers. How are you all? Are you always excited when you see posts about gardening? Hopefully, one day you can make what you want come true.
Since long ago, I have always wanted to have my own garden at home. At first it was very difficult to realize, it was difficult for me to have a garden that I could take care of myself.
I always believe that nothing is impossible if we are willing to try and really want it for something good. Even though I have to spend a lot of money and it is expensive to be able to add land around my house. I am very grateful that I was able to buy a little land around my house. The thing I am most grateful for is the opportunity that came. The little land that was sold to me was like a way from God for me to finally be able to garden.
So, when the opportunity came, I didn't want to waste it. Indeed, in the beginning, I left this land empty. At that time, I hadn't really thought about gardening. I didn't know anything about gardening. Until finally, there were many videos on Youtube about gardening that appeared on my Youtube homepage. I became very excited to start diving into the world of gardening. Especially, to utilize my land next to the house.
Oh, yes, this time I will share the excitement of harvesting shallots this weekend. I harvested shallots in the afternoon before it got dark.
Actually, a few days ago, I wanted to harvest these shallots. It's just that, a few days ago it always rained and didn't give me the opportunity to harvest the shallots. Well, it happened that today it wasn't raining and the sky was beautiful with the weather today being sunny.
To harvest the shallots, I also wore a red shirt because I was very excited. To be honest, this is the first harvest from my first shallot planting using the seed method.
Let me show you my shallots that I planted in the previous period. When I planted shallots without seeds, you can see for yourself that there is a difference in the size of the shallots that I planted using the bulb method.
Compared to the method of planting using shallot seeds, the method of planting with the bulbs directly has a smaller bulb size. You can see in the picture.
This makes me very happy. The first time planting shallots using this seed method was successful without any obstacles. I am grateful to God that I have been able to get this far. I always believe that no effort is successful without prayer. After trying in gardening, I do not forget to always pray that God will give maximum results.
I plant shallots in polybags. I also use an organic system without using any chemical fertilizers at all. I also do not use pesticides. Everything is organic, meanwhile, for fertilizer use, I use manure and sometimes compost. I use these fertilizers once a month.
Before the shallot harvest actually arrives, I hook the shallot leaves using a hook so that the shallot leaves look neat. Later, when the shallots are ready to be harvested, their leaves will give a simultaneous yellowish sign at the top. Also, the lower part of the stem has softened or become soft when we hold it. In fact, later their stems will fall down by themselves.
Finally, after 3 months of transplanting from the seeding period, I can harvest these shallots.
Wow, look at them! Those shallots are so sexy and beautiful, right?
Yey, this is all the results of my shallot harvest this weekend. I am very happy with this very large harvest. It can be for my daily supplies in the kitchen.
Next time, I will plant more. I am thinking about a business idea with these shallots. Maybe shallots can be a good commodity to cultivate! We'll see later. I hope you enjoy the excitement of harvesting shallots this time. Until next time!

Wow ... what a bounty? Loved the purple color on the bulbs. So beautiful. Looking forward to hearing about those business ideas and maybe some recipes:)
I have always liked gardening, but I live in a very small apartment, I have no space, but in spite of that I planted some miniature roses for my wife, but they stole the pot with the flowers, then I planted some sunflowers, and they also stole them, the last thing I managed to plant is a basil plant and I have it in the hallway.
That shallot is very tasty, and adds a great flavor to the food, I find it similar to a combination of garlic and onion. I don't know what you think.

Oh my those shallots are looking so fresh and healthy, hope it didnt stress you out during planting. Are those also called spring onion?
Great harvest! The shallots are healthy and in good condition. They were also bigger harvest this time. It's the good side of planting, you can have fresh harvest from your garden and you can sell to others too. Have a nice day!
It is good you tied those onion leaves Ma'am, it can easily broke everytime when there is a wind. Your onions grow very healthy Ma'am @anggreklestari . 😊
Wow! A great time to enjoy.. congratulations for your hard work 👍
You are so demure and mindful and cool...
I love your results! Excellent work. Beautiful plants!
Hi, over there, 😅
It is an art that requires study and investment and so when I see your posts, I know that besides putting your heart into it every day, you have done a lot of research. You have also sacrificed things to see your dream come true. That's why it's so nice and inspiring to visit you.
The shallots (onions?) grew beautiful and healthy.
I'm sure you'll be able to make a business out of your garden. For those who don't garden, having fresh herb to cook with will be a godsend. If the price is lower than purchasing from the market, then I can see this being a successful way to make the garden harvest pay for itself (i.e. supplies, etc.).
Thanks for sharing.

Do you sell them? You planted several veggies since the day you created your garden 😊
Your garden has rich soil that grows different kinds of plants. Lucky you.
God is wonderful and He gave you this beautiful gift full of blessings so that you could achieve your dream of having your own garden. It is beautiful. However, you have to love what you do because it implies a lot of attention. Hugs my friend
You have a green thumbs my dear.
The yield of onions is very good. And you look beautiful in the white hat. Most of all, the fun of working in your own garden is different.
