Roasted Tempeh Stuffed Avocado
Do you like avocados, Food Lovers? I'm sure there are many people who don't really like avocados because the taste of avocados tends to be plain and the texture is soft. Some people even find the texture of an avocado to be disgusting, especially if it's overripe.
Plus, we are not always lucky to get good quality avocados. Just like what happened to me, I often get poor-quality avocados. The inside of the avocado has many blackish fiber lines.
But these things actually make me not give up on being able to like avocados. Because avocados are perfect for health, as well as skin beauty, avocados deserve to be liked. Especially as a supporter of a healthy lifestyle.
Tips To Learn To Love Avocados
One of the important tips for us to become fond of avocados is to combine avocados with your favorite ingredients. As much as possible, look for ingredients that have a different texture from avocado. So, it can cover up the boring texture of the avocado.
For example, we can serve avocados with a variety of protein ingredients that have a strong savory taste. For example, as I did in this recipe, I combined avocado with roasted tempeh and a spicy flavor. For you, you can also combine avocado with lentils or other roasted vegetables.
The most important thing is that you like the ingredients and seasoning used to complement the avocado dish. For me, I use spicy seasoning because I love spicy things!
The Spicy thing really helped me to like avocado. The doctor advised me to eat a lot of avocados. So, I always have to find new ways to eat avocados that are delicious and don't bore me.
So, this time I will share my new way of eating avocado with roasted tempeh which I season spicy with chili sauce. This dish is really delicious in my opinion. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or just a filling snack.
Roasted Tempeh With Spicy Flavor
Before serving avocado with roasted tempeh, I will make roasted tempeh first. Well, you can also use other ingredients which can have a crispy texture when roasting.
By the way, if you can't eat a side dish with a spicy taste, then you can combine tempeh with soy sauce. Soy sauce is perfect too for tempeh.
So, what do you need:
- 1 pack of tempeh, about 200-2500 grams
- 3-5 tablespoons of hot sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 3 cloves of red onion, chopped
- 1/4 onion, chopped
- a teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
- enough cooking oil to cook onions and garlic, chopped
- sesame seeds (optional)
Note: if you don't want to use fresh garlic and onions, you can use Italian herbs, then also garlic powder. Just adjust the taste to your taste buds.
How to make roasted tempeh
Here I use a manual chopper with a small container. So, I need to cut tempeh first into small pieces. If you use a large food processor, you can skip this step, without having to cut tempeh into small pieces.
Before roasting tempeh, we need to make the tempeh texture into crumbs. I also use a chopper. Previously I cut the tempeh into small pieces, then I started crushing the tempeh into crumbs.
The thing to pay attention to at this stage is not to make the tempeh crumbs too smooth. When held, tempeh crumbs will still feel like it has a few soybean particles inside.
After successfully making tempeh crumbs, transfer the tempeh crumbs to the baking tray. Make them just a single layer. Don't let them overlap too much in one place.
Roast for 20 minutes with 10 minutes per part, then stir tempeh crumbs and roast again in the last ten minutes or 15 minutes.
After getting roasted tempeh, then heat the cooking oil. Then, stir-fry chopped garlic and onion until they smell nice.
After the garlic and onion mixture smells good, then add the roasted tempeh. Stir well.
Then, don't forget to add a teaspoon of salt and 1/ teaspoon of sugar, also chili sauce or whatever sauce you use.
Stir fry for about 3 minutes or until all the seasonings seep perfectly into the tempeh. try to use small fires to prevent them from burning.
Roasted tempeh with spicy seasoning is ready to serve. Then prepare the avocado. Serve roasted tempeh in the middle of the avocado halves with holes. The final step, sprinkle them with sesame seeds!
Whoa! I really like the results. With avocado meat that is soft like butter, combined with spicy roasted tempeh with a crispy texture.
So far, this recipe is my favorite recipe for consuming avocado. The taste of avocado which tends to be plain will be dominated by savory side dishes, as well as spicy ones. So, what do you think about this one?
Do you have a favorite way to serve avocado? Don't forget to try to like avocados because avocados contain unsaturated fats, as well as carbohydrates, protein, and fiber which are good for our bodies.

Wonderful presentation:)
Thanks😊🍀🥗
I like the pictures from the avocado. But I do not know how to eat avocado.
When the avocado is ripe, you can make it drink or food. For a drink, blend avocado as juice, mixed with chocolate condensed milk.
For food, you can use it for bread topping, or make it as topping for toast.
Or, you can make stuffed avocado like mine. I hope you can find ripe avocado there.
Wow! This is super food..I love avocado..It's a good source of good fat and seasonal fruit.. too expensive too!
For sure superfood. We can make avocado as food or drink.
I often make avocado pudding too.
Wow, I remember how my parent use to eat this avocados with yam and they say it look like butter in a hot yam meal. This is so nice
Yam or taro is perfect for filling too. Glad you know this way❤
Yes exactly it has always been yam all the time, I have not tried taro
Taro is similar to yam but smoother in texture and more expensive than yam.
Ohhh wow, learning new things everyday 😚😚
We have to. ❤️
Wonderful recipe and neat plating sis. Just wondering do you have a website dedicated to cooking recipes?
For now I just use Hive ❤
Wawooo wonderful recipe
I hope you like this one. And maybe you have a similar recipe.
I'm fine eating plane avocado. But my best way back when I was younger was putting brown sugar or sweet milk on it 😊.. my mother used to make avocado ice cream back then since we had a tree in our yard..but was cut down by a strong typhoon..
Oh in the past, at the Hive blog too, I published about avocado served with coconut milk and brown sugar. I love it too.
But savory version, I love this one. ❤
I seldom buy avocado here.. It's freaking expensive 😂
In here not really, but yeah I must buy in expensive price to good quality of avocado. But worth it

Wow! avocado is delicious and the perfect accompaniment to meals, it looks like creamy butter; I like to eat it with arepa casabe and salads.
Happy day!
Eat Avocado as salad is perfect too, with our fav salad dressing 😊
I'm not used to avocado but I would like to introduce it to my menu. I've been seeing it in stores here in Romania for a few years now and it's probably all over the world now. I'm trying to cook your recipe but I don't know what "tempeh" is, I guess I'll have to replace it.
Very nice this presentation makes me want to eat avocado too.
Thank you!
Replacing Tempeh with something else is good idea. I think Indonesian Tempeh is the best Tempeh (Made from fermented soy beans). So I think It is really difficult to find Tempeh in other country, except we Made homemade Tempeh.
That's okay to replace with your favorite protein 😊
Thank you!
Looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😊
Delicious avocado bowl @anggreklestari.
I love this great finish, and it's sure to increase your appetite.

I love avocado with spicy proteins. This sounds really good. I also have trouble getting good avocados and have stopped buying them, but I'll see if I can find reddish skinned ones. I wonder if this would work with tofu as well, which is easier for me to find where I live.
Tofu is works. Making crispy tofu crumbs first, then add them into avocado. Yummy!
Wow, this is very different from the others, usually I process avocados only as a drink, but here I found a new recipe that really caught my attention from its appearance, thank you Many for the recipe sis
In Indonesia indeed we just know Avocado drink. But I often eat Avocado. Super healthy. Try to avoid using many sugar.
Alright sis, I'll try it
Looks yummy, and pretty sis! Hmmh :9
Thanks sis.
I love so much Tempeh. The spicy one is indeed my fav 😊
@clairemobey and I love avocado! It is a fruit that is grown here in South Africa, in the hotter or more humid provinces. So sometimes they cost a lot!
This looks really interesting! The dish looks very good, however, I have never tried a dish like tempeh. This is a completely new food to me.
It MAY be up @fermentedphil's alley though, tempeh is a "Tempeh or tempe is a traditional Indonesian food made from fermented soybeans. It is made by a natural culturing and controlled fermentation process that binds soybeans into a cake form." - Wikipedia. Perhaps we can try find it sold here OR make some ourselves?
Thank you so much for this recipe @anggreklestari!
So, how about the avocado size there? In the past I bought Imported avocado, small size than mine. But the inside really good. Smooth and no little dark spot.
I think we can Made it by ourselves. But yeah, the best Tempeh is covered with banana leaves. 😊
The avocado seems about the same size as you have over there. I saw the other day some "avozilla" (Like godzilla avocado). I have no idea where they come from but the avocados were each the size of a papaya!
Looks fantastic!
We have a huge avocado tree on the property next door, a massive branch hangs over to our side. We harvest hundreds of avocados every second year!
I have never tried to make tempeh, I am not sure if we get it in SA. I think you need very specific yeasts/bacteria to infect the soybeans. Maybe we can open a business: tempeh and purslane chutney!
Right? I am looking forward to seeing you at the thing next Saturday. Are you still going?
Yebo, I am! We will see you there!
Awesome!
