One Package Of New Taste Experience
Food is the richest thing in the world, in my opinion. Food contains many secrets that have infinite depth. Maybe, we managed to uncover one secret, but on another layer of course there is another layer of secrets.
Since long ago, since I was in school and started writing stories and poems, I began to combine stories about the kitchen and food. Although in fact, when I was little, of course I couldn't cook.
But miraculously, when I went to the capital alone, I began to be able to combine ingredient by ingredient and could cook various menus.
Maybe that's also what is called talent. I flowed the talent from my late mom, who was good at writing stories and poems and was also good at cooking.
That's why you will always see food and words of poetry on my blog. I like to convey about the simplicity of life.
Then, let's go back to the topic of discussion about food that has many secrets. I don't always like all foods. In fact, there are local foods that I don't like.
Oddly enough, this time, I ordered a local menu that I usually like. A food menu is called "Mie Rebus", meaning a dish of boiled noodles that are then served with thick gravy. The gravy has a combination of shrimp and brown sugar ingredients.
Why don't I like this menu? In my opinion, the type of noodles that I tried before smelled of cooking lime and it was disgusting, plus the smell and taste of the broth were too strong for shrimp, like the shrimp were not fresh.
I really appreciate food. So, I always give food a chance. I also tried that type of food in other places.
I hope my favorite cafe can provide a new taste experience for a food menu that I previously didn't like.
Before I discuss a food menu that I gave a second chance to like, I will try a savory food as an appetizer.
This is a traditional food with sticky rice ingredients. With spiced chicken filling.
Then, grill it first before serving. The interesting thing is how to wrap this cake. Very neat.
In the middle of the cake is also given a pandan leaf. Of course, pandan leaf creates an additional fragrance to this cake. This is a new delicious taste experience.
The delicious aroma, combined with the overall savory taste of sticky rice and shredded chicken filling.
Next, let's see what the taste of the food that I don't like is like, in my favorite place.
The thick sauce of this noodle dish is given cornstarch so that it creates a thick texture like this. The color of this sauce is dark reddish because it is made from brown sugar ingredients.
Then, we look at the toppings and fillings of this noodle dish. There are typical red and white crackers that are always there for topping this type of dish. Then, there is also egg, brown tofu, boiled potatoes, and mung bean sprouts.
Brown tofu
Slowly, I tasted the sauce from this dish. I tried to be honest and not judge from my past memories. It turns out, this type of dish served in this cafe is not bad. It turns out, it is quite appetizing.
In my opinion, they use a different type of noodle. Their noodles are delicious, have a good texture, and don't smell of cooking lime like I used to find in other places.
Maybe it's also because the menu here is a bit pricey, so they really use good quality ingredients.
I'm really happy to be able to get a new taste experience from food that I initially didn't like. So, we should give another chance to food that we initially didn't like. But, try it in a different place. And maybe you will get a new experience that makes you happy 😊❤️

At first I thought that the boiled noodles were given additional soy sauce so that they were dark red in color. It turns out that there is a composition of palm sugar in the boiled noodle sauce, which certainly tastes sweeter and more savory.
In some versions, also given sweet soy sauce. :)
Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day!☕️
you must try the turnip cake, even though the portion is very small, I think they have the best turnip cake!
yeah, I love turnip cake, also mantao.
Happy the soup turned out for you this time. I have never tried Mie Rubus. It looks like something halfway between Pho and ramen, but it sounds like it might be sweeter. I am more of a savoury and salty girl. The rice wraps would probably be more to my liking.
Enjoyable blog:)
With shrimp broth, it will give a savory effect too, not too sweet :)
Yeah, I like ramen, but Indonesian food
Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day!☕️

Maybe you can eat ramen there. :)
Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day!☕️
It's great how you have followed in your mother's footsteps. She would be so proud...
You have a great passion for food and what you share with us today looks absolutely delicious. I agree if we initially try something we don't like we should give it another chance. I remember trying spinach for the first time as a kid. I didn't like it and was surprised Popeye did, haha. I tried it out of can though so that's probably why. Now I love spinach especially with an assortment of other ingredients 😃
When it comes to food, trying something new is always a must for anyone who enjoys this pleasure.
It's so interesting the way you talk about food and I must admit I have a romantic relationship with food too, I love watching food programs or TV series based on food I think food it's not just food but have a story, a tradition, a combination of love, family, history and poetry, by the way the local menu you share with us look so complete and good.
