Becoming A Professional

Working is easy, the hard thing is becoming a professional.

Sipping coffee, starting the day, taking a deep breath. Then, we realize that entering adulthood requires us to become a professional in every profession we have. Whatever.

Becoming a professional in your job will be difficult when you start in a position where you have everything. You come from a family that can support you. Your identity will be truly tested by things that seem completely invisible but from within you that continue to consume you in the running time. If you don't want to get up and set up.

Last night, right after dinner, my husband invited me to a new coffee shop in the city center. Not far from our house. My husband said he wanted a football match at the coffee shop. I said yes to my husband's invitation.

Indeed, most coffee shops in the city where we live always hold moments to watch football matches together. So, it would be fun to watch a football match together. Especially, in our house there is no TV. :)

Last night there was a match between Indonesia and Yemen for the Asian Cup Qualifiers. Let me tell you. Actually, I don't like football matches and am not interested in football matches. But, I always respect my husband. I just accompany my husband, even though I don't like football matches.

So, what do I do when I accompany my husband? Of course, I bring my laptop. :) Am I crazy? Oh, of course not. This is a professional that I master.

I followed The Coffee Shop Prompt by @cinnccf which was fun this week. "For some people, coffee shops make ideal working spaces, while others can't stand them. Which one are you? Real coffee shop photos and real-life stories."

That was an interesting prompt. Incidentally, I faced that situation last night. I am a person who can make public spaces my working spaces. Whether using a laptop or phone. Even in a noisy place, the fact is I can handle the situation.

Last night I ordered a local coffee called Sanger Espresso. A type of coffee that serves espresso with sweetened condensed milk. It can be served as iced coffee or hot coffee.

This type of coffee is very strong in taste. And it can really make me think. But it's just that, I fell asleep late last night. It's okay, just an occasional moment and I don't do it often for health reasons. (Still, drinking coffee before dark is the best way to keep sleep quality good and normal).

How can I make public places like coffee shops, cafes, etc., as my working space? Well, I'm just used to it. I have to be professional. Working while still prioritizing mood or place, it will actually reduce productivity.

Since I graduated from college, and worked at a state-owned company that required me to work under pressure, I got used to working anywhere. In fact, I used to always bring my laptop wherever I went even though I had a family event because my job at that time required me to be online when they needed it, anytime, and anywhere.

That job shaped me into a hardworking and professional person, even though I no longer work for that company. I chose my own path. But, I learned a lot from there and I didn't forget to be a professional.

For snacks, I ordered cheese sticks last night. A delicious savory snack dipped in hot sauce. Also perfect for coffee. :)

Becoming a professional in my opinion is not a choice, but a necessity. Becoming a professional can make me stand where I am today, even though I used to come from a family that even had difficulty eating. In the end, I was able to graduate from college with a full scholarship from the government, and worked in a big company at that time.

By becoming a professional, I can prove to my extended family that it doesn't matter if we are born poor. We just need to have big intentions and dreams, and then work hard for those dreams. Once you take a step and don't give up, then you know, you will be closer to the things you want. :)

How about you guys? Can you work in public places, or are you trying to learn to be able to work anywhere? :)

You have spoken well. Being a professional involves taking deliberate steps in improving and building oneself daily. The more professional we become, the more results we see. Although, I can't work in public places, which makes me envy you on how you cope 😀... I'm easily distracted by noise... But I guess, I will get better, perhaps when I work in a place where I'm being asked if I can “work under pressure" 😂😂

At first, I also found it very difficult to work in a crowded place, but by getting used to working under heavy pressure I can finally work from anywhere now. Indeed, everything just needs to get used to it.
Thank you for reading :)

There's a saying which says that, it's not your fault to be born poor, but it's your fault to die poor 😄

It's really a need to become a professional nowadays. It shows how far we've reached and how tall we've become.

I would be annoyed if my day was very unproductive just because of my mood :)

How great that you accompanied your husband to watch the soccer game, dear friend @anggreklestari
The place you visited looks beautiful, and what you ordered looks exquisite
Have a happy start to the week

I totally agree with your philosophy on being born poor. So many rags to riches stories out there. Not many have done it with out giving a lot of effort or sacrifices. It holds true you can't be where you want to be without planning, making adjustments and working hard for it.

Wow that coffee shop looks huge. The cheese sticks look so good and I have never tried some paired with coffee. Will have to give this a go one of these days. 😃

Habits shape us. I am grateful that my family taught me the meaning of hard work and that made me independent, not spoiled, and I can work from anywhere :)

It really depends on the situation and also my mood, sometimes I can make use of the time and space to make the post, but often time I just rather be present, and just let go of the idea od making a post in that kind of situation as my mind could not concentrate. You are awesome, a real professional to make use of the space and the time. : )

I hope your husband is not an MU supporter. heheh

As a writer, it would be very detrimental to me if I only relied on my mood :)

No matter how big or small the work is, it is always difficult. It gets easier when you stick to doing it. Your post and this coffee shop are really beautiful. @anggreklestari

Being an online worker and a freelancer certainly won't be easy, but once you understand your own work rhythm, it will be easy for you to work anywhere :)

Being an adult is learning to be wise every day, and the hardest thing is when you lose your mood :)
So it's most important to have an environment that has good energy.
Cheers!

Hello.
There are places, cafes, that show up to work. And I like it.
However, there are jobs that I cannot do in public places, because noise or other distractions prevent me.
Nice place... your work sounds interesting... very dynamic.

Hello, sandracabrera
In the past when I just finished from university, I couldn't work in noisy, but after I got the job then I became used in crowded and noisy places :)
Thank you for stopping by 😊

I agree with your philosophy on being a professional. I too had a stressful career in the legal field. Being a Paralegal meant I performed the groundwork for my attorneys. Working for one lawyer is difficult. Two or more is extremely difficult. I too learned to work under pressure and would bring my company laptop home and continue to work long hours. Due to the sensitive nature of my job, I couldn't connect to unsecure networks, so attempting to log on to my job's computer in coffee shops or other public spaces wasn't an option.

I feel that being flexible for job demands no matter where you are is the key. Also, when you say that your early life was difficult, I have to tell you that may family didn't have financial resources for nine of us living in the same household. But my parents managed somehow. I also reminded my siblings that it didn't matter we grew up poor, it's what you make out of your life going forward that counts.

Take care and have a good rest of your week.

Thank you also for sharing your story :)
As I grow older, I want to make sure that my time is to do a lot of good. So, I decided to work according to my passion and I can help others more. :)
I'm glad now I'm used to working anywhere even in crowded places

You're so welcome. I also try to do good for myself and for others, especially family who are not doing as well as they could. This is true for the young ones if I can guide them in the right direction.

Take care.

I love working in a coffee shop that is all warm and inviting, maybe with soft jazz being played. It is one of my favorite ways to work. But I do not think I would be as productive where a sporting event was being played and there was rowdy cheering. But I have never tried either.

The coffee looked delicious:)

Having a profession is something very necessary these days if we want to have a stable job. The difficult situations we experience in our lives shape us.

Thanks for sharing your coffee experience with us☕

Good day.

In the past, when I followed my mood, I felt my productivity also decreased drastically. So I started to force myself to be professional and that eventually made me more productive. :)

Taking advantage of the time is fundamental, you like to enjoy yourself but at the same time you take advantage of the opportunities to write and interact with the Hivers, but you also make your husband feel accompanied. You don't like soccer ⚽⚽ but you please him. And you see from that came this post which is always welcome.🤗🥰

The important thing is to find a quiet place where you can work and concentrate. There aren't many places like that in my city, but if there were, I would like to go and enjoy my coffee while I work. Greetings from Venezuela.🤗❤️

Very nice coffee shop; although you don't like soccer, good thing you were able to please your husband to watch the game in that coffee shop. Everyone has their own tastes and you took advantage of your work by bringing your laptop. Everyone is happy, and that espresso looks very tasty.
