Un ayuda para Cumanacoa -Universidad Simón Rodríguez [Esp / Eng]

Fue un dos de julio cuando ocurrió la tragedia de Cumanacoa, hecho que aconteció tras la crecida del río manzanares por el paso del Huracán Beryl y trajo consigo muchas perdidas, personas que lo perdieron todo. Esto nos cayó por sopresa, recibiendo la noticia en la ciudad de Cumaná, al día siguiente, cuando desperté, encendí mi teléfono para ver los mensajes y lo primero que ví fueron fotos y videos de personas en el pueblo de Cumanacoa que perdieron todo y el río estaba extremamente crecido. En Cumaná también había llovido pero la tragedia pegó fuerte en la población de Cumanacoa.

Estábamos sorprendidos, nos cayó por sorpresa, ya sabes, un día tranquilo haciendo tus cosas y de repente ves por las noticias, es difícil de digerir y más si tienes compañeros que tienen familias en Cumanacoa dónde también perdieron cosas. Las fotos de la tragedia fueron fuertes que nunca había visto antes pero también es cierto que ví mucha solidaridad por parte de los cumaneses, también ví críticas de personas que no les parecía de acuerdo mostrar las ayudas que se recibieron en Cumanacoa pero algo si estoy segura y es que se debería incentivar con estas acciones a más personas y que en cumaná aporte su grano de arena para que seamos más personas bondadosas que donen de verdad con el corazón. Mi universidad no se quedó atrás y es por esto que te cuento lo que hicimos:

It was on July 2nd when the tragedy of Cumanacoa occurred, an event that happened after the flooding of the Manzanares River due to the passage of Hurricane Beryl and brought with it many losses, people who lost everything. The next day, when I woke up, I turned on my phone to see the messages and the first thing I saw were photos and videos of people in the town of Cumanacoa who lost everything and the river was extremely swollen. It had also rained in Cumaná but the tragedy hit hard in the town of Cumanacoa.

We were surprised, it came as a surprise, you know, a quiet day doing your business and suddenly you see it on the news, it is hard to digest and even more so if you have colleagues who have families in Cumanacoa where they also lost things. The photos of the tragedy were strong that I had never seen before but it is also true that I saw a lot of solidarity from the people of Cumanacoa, I also saw criticisms from people who did not agree with showing the aid that was received in Cumanacoa but one thing I am sure of is that more people should be encouraged with these actions and that Cumaná should contribute their grain of sand so that we are more kind people who truly donate from the heart. My university was not left behind and that is why I tell you what we did:

Fuimos centro de acopio, aceptamos ropa para todas los edades, alimentos no perecederos, medicinas y mucha agua potable. Estábamos consientes que en Cumanacoa no tenían acceso al agua potable, por ello nos organizamos para poder llevar botellones de agua potable. Yo done parte de mi ropa que ya no uso, me sentí bien al hacerlo y ayude a los muchachos a identificar el empaque. Me encanta mi grupo de estudio porque como somos muchos, entre todos nos ayudamos para un fin, que es ayudar. No veo nada de malo con esto, es más, se debería hacer esto más seguido porque no sabes cómo le puedes calmar el día a una persona. El fin de semana los muchachos consiguieron un camión y fueron a llevar lo que se recolectó a Cumanacoa.

As a collection center, we accept clothes for all ages, non-perishable food, medicines, and lots of drinking water. We were aware that in Cumanacoa they did not have access to drinking water, so we organized ourselves to bring bottles of drinking water. I donated some of my clothes that I don't wear anymore, it felt good to do it and I helped the kids identify the packaging. I love my study group because since there are so many of us, we all help each other for one purpose, which is to help. I don't see anything wrong with this, in fact, you should do this more often because you don't know how you can make someone's day. On the weekend the boys got a truck and went to take what was collected to Cumanacoa.

Aquí en esta foto parece que somos pocos pero en realidad fuimos muchísimos, faltan licenciados en fisioterapia, docentes, administrativos y directivos. Les comparto este lindo recuerdo, como dije anteriormente, los buenos somos más.

Here in this photo it seems that we are few but in reality, we were many, we are missing physiotherapy graduates, teachers, administrators, and managers. I share with you this nice memory, as I said before, the good ones are more.
