Battle Weekly Challenge - Nerissa Tridawn
Hello everyone and welcome to the Battle Weekly Challenge. This week the challenge is with Nerissa Tridawn, an epic Water element card with no abilities that belongs to the Chaos Legion edition.
This battle was played in a Splinterland tournament where only the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers editions were allowed to play. It was a Novice League tournament, so only level 1 cards were allowed. Let's see the rules, the team and the details of the battle.
Battle Rules
This is a 48 mana battle with 3 battle rules (Explosive Weaponry, Silenced Summoners and Super Sneak). All elements except Fire, Life and Dragon are allowed to play.
Icon | Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Explosive Weaponry | All Monsters have the Blast ability. | |

Super Sneak | All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability. |
My Lineup
Kelya’s home in Vorlan was lavish and full of prizes. On the walls hung weapons of great warriors and artifacts from deep dungeons. There were rooms filled to the brim with treasure and libraries overflowing with knowledge, tomes, and manuscripts. She had hundreds of servants and was butled from dawn until dusk. She even has the pleasure of leading the most stalwart and tactical squadron around, the Wave Breakers, a group of dwarven warriors. She uses Water magic to create weapons of crystallized water. Yet, there was one thing she sought about all else: the Silver Shield and Silver Sword. Kelya amassed so much wealth exploring numerous lands, she purchased a fleet of ships and built her home on the small island of Vorlan. Surrounded by sea and mist, she and her Wave Breakers constantly plot ways of finding the sword and shield. They also love a good challenge and especially enjoy combat. She and the Wave Breakers are often hired as mercenaries to clear out dungeons and fight on behalf of the highest bidder. The next highest bidder to come calling just so happened to be the Chaos Legion. |
Kelya Frendul: In this battle the summoners do not give any abilities or buff/debuff due to the "Silenced Summoners" rule, so I have decided to use Kelya Frendul to be able to use Water element cards.
Diemonshark: I have chosen Diemonshark as the main tank because I think it is a very complete card for 8 mana. It has a good combination of Speed, Attack, Armor and HP. High Speed, Armor and HP will allow us to attack first, dodge some attacks and resist longer in battle.
Nerissa Tridawn: In the second position I have used Nerissa Tridawn. This is an amazing Magic attack card that can be used as a second tank due to its high HP. Even if its mana cost is high, it's a perfect card for high mana battles.
Deeplurker: I think this card is very good as its Opportunity ability allows him to attack from any position and target the enemy monster with the lowest HP. He can kill enemy monsters on the first turn.
Magi of Chaos: Another amazing Magic attack card with a nice combination of Magic and HP. This card is Neutral, so we can use it with all elements.
Disintegrator: Disintegrator reduces the melee attack of all enemy monsters with its "Demoralize" ability. This card is a wonderful choice since the enemy player should use some melee attack monsters. In this particular battle we were able to reduce the damage of 3 melee attack monsters by -1, which is very useful.
Wave Brood: All enemy monsters target Wave Brood thanks to his Taunt ability. Knowing that the enemy monsters will target this card will help us protect the rest of the allied monsters.

Did your strategy work?
Yes. I think my strategy worked well. We have managed to use a varied combination of different types of damage (melee, magic and ranged) and win the battle. I think the positioning of our monsters was very important to spread the damage from the "Explosive Weaponry" rule. Even if the composition of the enemy player was very similar, we managed to win the battle. So I am happy with the result and the strategy I used.
Do you like Nerissa Tridawn?
Yes! I like Nerissa Tridawn. Personally it is a card that I use a lot. Does magic damage is very important to avoid opponent's heavily armored monsters. Monsters with magic attack may do damage from any row, since this form of attack ignores the defender’s Armor STAT (damage is applied directly to health). Unless there is a monster with Phase on the enemy's team, magic attack will always hit. There is no miss chance.
Your battle is very good. You have selected the cards correctly and in the correct positions. I think lineup is very important thing to win any battle. As you have also followed in your strategy. Thanks for sharing. I've always loved NERISSA TRIDAWN because it does three magic attacks. And with some great Summoners, it starts with four magic attacks.
