Ann was an agile lady who was very industrious, one day at work she started to throw up, rumor had it that she was pregnant, so she was granted permission to go home.

Ann wasn't pregnant as she knew it was her menstruation, she was one of the few people who threw up during their cycles, and she would scream at intervals as her cramp were like the pangs of a pregnant woman.

During her cycles, she lost her appetite and lost the motivation to do things, she even had heavy flows that her dresses get stained in little or no time.

"Why do I have to get punished for not getting pregnant, this pain is too much", Ann lamented as she was on the phone with her sister.

" Ann, I know you've been taking too many sugary foods lately, have you considered cutting down on sugary foods? , well I have a tip for you. Jane her sister continued.

Too much sugary food increases your menstrual cramp, makes your mood worse and even heavy flow, I suggest you start eating healthy, eat more fruits, drink a lot of water especially warm water during your cycles, and apply heat on your abdomen either by damping your towel into warm water and place on your abdomen or use a heat bag, it helps to melt the blood clot, and your flow will be easy and less painful.

Have you considered exercising during your cycles, it might not be easy but trust me it helps to lighten your mood and ease your pain and discomfort during your cycles. Exercise is also a very good way to ease your stress, and eat a lot of nuts to avoid eating oily foods, especially fried foods.

A pain reliever is not out of place if the pain is excruciating, however, it should be with caution as they could have an effect if you continue with it over a long period.

Ann, make sure you eat more bananas and oranges they are good fruits for menstrual cramps. Try to get enough sleep, especially at night to have a better mood and be energetic, it also helps reduce the headaches you might be experiencing during your cycles. Throwing up is a result of your hormonal change and would go away after some days especially if you take constant effort to make your menstrual cycle painless.

I have mentioned all these tips for you as it has worked for me, so you may want to try them out, however, if the pain persists after trying all of these, it's about time to see a doctor as it may be an underlying health factor like fibroid and other illness, Jane responded.

"Oh okay sister, let me start with drinking the warm water and exercising, I honestly have to cut down on sugary foods," Ann confessed. Thank you, sister, can we talk later? I have to exercise now.

"Oh okay Ann, take care of yourself, I would see you later in the day my baby sister."

This is my entry for this week's prompt.
