Hope you're set for a new week? It's been a very busy week already for me, I don't think I would want to snooze on it.

The festive period is fast approaching and many people have ordered some outfit from me which means I have a lot of my plate already, but despite it..

Let's talk about the thirty minutes Ireti's dress.

Ireti is my neighbour who is just 16 years old. Her high school will be having a traditional costume day tomorrow. She dropped this fabric with me last week Friday on her way back from school, because she would be picking it up this afternoon as soon as she closes from school.

The traditional costume day in her school is all about showcasing traditional attires or imitating a culture you love so much.

Ireti decided to rock the Hausa's kaftan. According to her, she would be wearing a leggings under this armless kaftan and a head turban.

If there's anything I love about the dress, is the simplicity. I don't believe in doing too much, because less is more.

Here is the beautiful cotton fabric she dropped with me and how it's simply embellished with white soft beads.

This fabric isn't hard to work it compared to the lace I shared with y'all last week.

It's so soft and relaxed. It took me approximately 20/minutes to sew it but another 10 minutes to cut.

The sides of the armless kaftan has slit, so that a little part of her leggings will be visible. That's the beauty of the dress.

I used her hip measurement and full gown length to achieve this dress. Her hip is 36 inches, and since it's the largest part of her body.it was folded in 9inches with 2inches sewing allowance.

I placed her bust measurement on the upper part if the dress, her round sleeve was 8 inches. I connected it before cutting.

The dress just needs hemming. I hemmed the sleeve, side slits, and the hem of dress. This dress has a little V-opening at the front.

Iretu is a very creative teenager and I'm sure she will rock this Kaftan in a variety of ways.

If I were to rock this dress, I would wear a turtle neck long sleeve black top underneath it before wearing the kaftab on it and other times, I'll just rock it like that.
