NEWBIE TASK 3 : HOW I LOST MY HIVE ACCOUNT.

I came back from the club in the wee hours of the morning. Feeling all wasted i hit the bed and slept like a log. It's Saturday morning and sleeping in was my favourite thing about the weekend.

It was already 10:45am when i opened my eyes. I am feeling a lot better than i was when i got back and so i dragged myself to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. Since my breath still leaked of alcohol, the taste of a sweet flavoured coffee in my mouth was like heaven. I reached for my phone and tried logging into my hive account but it wasn't working. After about twenty minutes of trying i started panicking because it seemed that i have been logged out of my own account.

Ohhhh my goodness, my account has been hacked!.

I can't believe that someone did this to me. When and how managed is what i can't figure out. It was really a very bad morning for me as i tried to solve the mystery on how my account was able to got hacked.

POSSIBLE WAYS BY WHICH MY ACCOUNT GOT HACKED

• I must have mistakenly pasted it in the discord channel yesterday. I made a lot of transactions which warrant that i copied my keys.
• Maybe someone snapped my phone screen when i was going through my keys. I remembered that i was doing a lot of things as the same time. So i might have given the hacker ample opportunity to snap my keys.
• There are some unsafe website that i entered yesterday. They must have gotten my keys from there. Those fake accounts and websites that i entered with my password must have stolen all my information and used it to hack into my account. Well there is absolutely no need crying over spilled milk. I must take my account back from these hackers.

FIRST MOVE TO RECOVER MY ACCOUNT.

Hive is decentralized blockchain thus nobody has control over anyone's account. There is no team anywhere that can help me to recover my account but nonetheless there is an operation in the blockchain for account recovery. SO first i will activate Account Recovery Operation

I have just 30 days to be able to recover my account or else my account will be gone forever. In these 30 days as long as i still have my previous keys especially my master passwords, i can still be able to recover my account back even if the hackers changed my keys.

RECOVERY ACCOUNT To begin the task of taking back my account from the hackers i would need my recovery account. A recovery account is an accouqnt of a person you trusted so much or maybe a project in hive that will file for you to recover your account. It's like giving the spare key of your drawer at work to a trusted colleague incase you forget yours at home or lose it. So it's that person that you put in your recovery account that will file for you to recover your account. He or she is like a witness that will testify that i am the owner of the account. You cannot file to recover your account by yourself. It's like being in a police custody and you are calling yourself to bail yourself.

• Generate a new password so that you will get a new public owner key.

• Send the public owner key to the trustee

• Fill the required information and click on recover account.
