LADIES OF HIVE COMMUNITY CONTEST 173 : NO COMPROMISE IN RAISING A CHILD IN A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT.

I have often heard people give excuses why they remained in a place where they are not loved or valued. Some use the children as an excuse to justify taking all forms of maltreatment from inlaws that dosen't like them and even husbands that see no need to protect them from their abusive family members.

A lot of young women do engage in premarital sex and 40% of these occasions leads to pregnancy thereby bringing in an innocent soul into the world. Some use because of the pregnancy to take the next step and walk out the aisle with their partner so that they can jointly take care of their child in a proper family way. Most times this turns out to be a big mistake and a wrongest reason to get married. In my home town we advice our young men and women never to marry someone just because they got pregnant or they impregnated a lady as both of them can take care of the baby without getting married to each other.

In a situation where they eventually got married out of love or even obligation and it turned out that the inlaw are abusive and the partner refused to protect his wife from his family members;if I find myself in such a situation, i will end the marriage in order to protect my sanity and self esteem. Staying in such relationship will tear you off any sense of self worth you have as a woman and by the time you know what's happening you must have become a shadow of yourself.

I know of a woman that is currently suffering from depression because of what she is passing through in her marriage. Her husband and his family joined hands together to beat her on several occasions and even stripe her naked. She had been locked outside with her 6 months old baby in the night and it took the intervention of some people before they allowed her back into the house around 2am in the morning.

Why will you continue staying with such people that hate you and your baby so much? And even a husband that didn't care that his son is outside in the cold in the middle of the night?

She called me last week that she was having traumas that makes her fearful whenever she's in the house. This is the height of it and I have to encourage her to save herself and her children. She cannot give her children the best when she is not mentally stabilized.

I have to chose myself and my kids first when I noticed that my inlaws didn't like me and they kept finding ways to harm me emotionally physically and spiritually. When their son joined forces with them that was when I know that I have to look out for happiness for myself and my children outside of them. There is no way i will subject myself or my children to their abuse when they are not God.

My children and I are happy which is what is most important to me right now. I am training them well and also teaching them never to submit themselves to any form of maltreatment or abuse from anybody not even their husbands or the family members.

Walk away where you are not valued.
