Challenges caused by slow internet connection

The other day my brother was telling me about the struggles his friend has been going through due to his job loss. He lost his job due to shutting down of the software house he had been working in.

His father died when he was still an undergraduate student of Engineering. Passing the tough time he was able to acquire a job, and support his family. He is the only bread winner for the family of five.

In this time of hyped inflation faced by the country livelihood of an employed person has become difficult, let alone an unemployed person.

Since he lost his job, he has been on a job hunt but is unable to find any. It is because the market is facing recession in the city specifically, and in the country in general.

It is the story of just one person that we personally know. There are hundreds of individuals, many of which are educated youth, who have been unable to find a source of deserving livelihood for themselves and their families.

There was a time in the country, when other markets were facing recession but the field of IT was blooming, and thus was promising for youngsters. In the recent years, however, this field is also facing a negative trend, turning employed into unemployed.

The cost of electricity in Karachi is higher than anywhere else in the country. Owing to this reason, several software houses started shifting to other cities.

An injury to the insult is added by the current initiative of the government and personnel in power. A nationwide firewall around internet has been built to safeguard the selfish interests of the status quo.

When the government realized the power of voices on social media, they started interrupting platforms like twitter (X) and Tiktok across the country. Twitter has not been accessible for several months.

When the torch bearers shifted to other platforms for raising their voices, the government gradually started interrupting them. Finally, they have built a firewall on the entire system putting the public in a massive upheaval.

The biggest backdrop to the economy of the country is via the shutting down of software houses. The e-commerce and online service providers have been severely affected.

The freelancers and remote workers are struggling to meet their commitments. Students are also grappling with significant challenges due to slow Internet connection.

I have recently started taking classes for an e-certificate course. Even though I receive the recorded lectures and worksheets, the slow Internet connection is disruptive. Even downloading a pdf document becomes a headache at times.

Slow internet connection frustrates me a lot when I am using Hive. It takes forever for a page to load and a reply to be transacted. The limited time I get for my online activities is all wasted in waiting.

Instead of correcting their mistakes, the government is holding the public responsible for all that is a happening to the Internet.

I wonder what kind of a mind-set the people in power have got. Okay , they do corruption to gain power and wealth, but do they not have a little corner in their hearts to leave a little for the motherland they loot. Does the respect and self-worth mean nothing to them?

Because of their greed and corruption, the country’s economy has been continually declining and there are only a little jobs in the local market and a vast array of jobs are paying very little rendering it difficult for the families to make the both ends meet.

In these circumstances, freelancing and remote jobs have been a hope for people; and this source of hope has now been put to danger just to safeguard the corruption. To curb the voices against their ill doings, they have curbed the sources of income for the public. But who cares! The hell fire in their bellies never gets satiated.........

God knows where this all will end......

I generally avoid political topics but isn't it somewhere the public is responsible to putting such parties or person in power ?. Though it is hard to find the skin of the person but eventually the common people are alwsys at the receiving end....

I can relate how tough it is to survive at times when everything revolves around internet.

People are responsible, but you know, sometimes, the change demands a blood shed and nothing else. Seems like we are in such circumstances.
By the power of their vote people rejected all those who are in power at this point but the hype of corruption brought the hated people in power.

May God pave our way to prosperity.
