TAMIMG THE SHREWS

Holiday had come, and Mr and Mrs Johnson could not wait to drop off their kids at their Grandmother's house.

"Alright kids, let's go" Mrs Johnson chimed in.

" But Mom, we've not finished eating" her three kids chorused.

"Well, better hurry up, or your dad will be late for work" she answered them.

Cherry, Lillian and Ben were a handful, most of the time. Their parents had a hard time raising them. The children were just so impossible. Very troublesome and playful, No matter the strict hand their father gave them, it was almost impossible to bend these children to the rules.

" I wonder where these children got their character from. I was never this stubborn while growing up", Mr Johnson said to his wife some days ago.

" Probably from your brother. He was a handful. I wonder how your mother managed to deal with him all by herself."

As she said that, it was like a light bulb had been switched on his head. Mr Johnson smiled excitedly at his wife,

"I think we've gotten the answers to our problems" he said to his wife, beaming from ear to ear.

"And what could that be" Mrs Johnson asked, ever curious to find out.

"My mom" he exclaimed.

And that was how it was agreed. Mr and Mrs Johnson planned on sending their three children to their Grandma's for the holidays.

" Aren't you guys done eating yet," Mr Johnson said as he was prepared to go to work.

You could tell they were both in a hurry to get rid of their children.

Finally, the children finished their breakfast and Mr Johnson drove them off to their grandmother's place for the holidays. Their grandmother was ecstatic to see them.

"Grandma! The three children chanted as they got out of the car.

Their Grandma smiled, opening her hands for a hug, which they happily obliged.

" Are you sure you can handle them for one month? They can be quite a handful", Mr Johnson asked his mother with concern.

" It's nothing. If I can train you and your four brothers all by myself, then there's no mountain I cannot climb" she said dramatically, and Mr Johnson couldn't help but laugh at that.

"Alright, mom, see you soon" he said, pecking her on the cheeks. And with that, he drove off to work.

Three days into the holiday, Mr Johnson's mother had had enough. The three children were like walking energy. Playing and messing around. Her once tidy home she often boasted of was in a state of higgledy-piggledy. Her neighbors could tell that her grandchildren were there for the holidays, it was that obvious. The noise they made alone was enough information that children were around.

" Alright, children, I told you not to go near the kitchen, didn't I?", their Grandma said sternly at them holding a cain.

"Yes Grandma, you did. We are sorry" they all said with teary-filled eyes, knowing they were about to be flogged.

" Now you've ruined my favorite blender and because of that you get to sleep in that old abandoned house your Grandfather used for his shrines. " Their Grandma said with a straight face.

The room she was talking about was an old-abandoned storehouse where she kept most of her properties for a long time. The room would appear to be quite scary for a three-year-old child or more.

"But Grandma, isn't that the room filled with skeletons and dead things that you told us about in the story last night? "

"Well, yes, but don't worry, they don't bite, they are already dead" she said, chuckling a bit to herself.

Later that night, she stood at the door waiting for them because she knew they were definitely going to run back to the house. Thirty minutes later, she could hear her grandchildren screaming and soon after, they ran back to her.

"Grandma! Grandma!" They all chorused her name.

" I think I'm being followed", Cherry started off.

" We're all being followed" Lilian said, next correcting her.

" There's a creature in the room that won't let us sleep, it's following us" Ben said lastly.

" What creature? You are just lying because you don't want to sleep in there, isn't it? " The Grandma asked, amused at them.

" Please, Grandma, we promise we are not lying. There truly is a creature following us around in there." The children began begging her.

" Please let us sleep in our room. We promise we won't cause you any more trouble " they continued pleading.

" Not even your parents?" she asked.

" We will be good from now on" they promised.

" Alright then, but remember if I hear any more complaints from your parents, I'll ask them to take you to that house, and we'll lock you up there", their Grandma said threateningly.

" Alright Grandma, we will behave, we promise" the three siblings answered her.

Grandma would always be happy seeing their grandchildren. So they were taken to their grandmother place just because of their stubborness. This is so funny. They must change by fire by force.
Their magic worked out at last.

Haha
Grandma was wise. At least the children will be calm for the rest of their stay.

They are very naughty and noisy children, the poor grandmother had to calm them down so that they would calm down their hyperactivity. The grandmother's wisdom managed to calm the children down.

Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Good day.
