Monomad: 30 August, Victory Day // 30 Ağustos Zafer Bayramı [EN & TR]

Yesterday was 30 August, an important day for Turkey. 100 years ago, in 1922, the sultan and government of the Ottoman Empire, which had lost the First World War, were not interested in the invasion of the country and turned into puppets in line with the wishes of the imperialists. Although August 30 is the beginning of the day when the Greek troops left Turkey, it symbolically represents the day the country's lands were taken back.

I was in Izmir for the 30th of August celebrations this year. I watched the performance of the play 'The Last Word' staged by the Izmir State Turkish World Dance and Music Ensemble artists and took some photos. Behind the crowd of dancers was a large orchestra. Şavk Eryürek was the general artistic director of the project and I can say that she did a good job.

I, living in the world of 2022, do not believe in war. Unless you have to, of course. Nationalist ideas are far from me.
Although there has been a lot of pain in the past; the Greeks, Armenians and Kurds and other peoples with whom we live in this land; they are my brothers and sisters.

p.s: The reason I took so many pictures was to try the Sony FE 50MM f/1.8 lens I just bought.

Dün 30 Ağustos, Türkiye için önemli bir gündü. 100 yıl önce, 1922 yılında, Birinci Dünya Savaşını kaybetmiş olan Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun padişahı ve hükümeti, ülkenin işgaliyle ilgilenmemiş ve emperyalistlerin istekleri doğrultusunda kuklaya dönüşmüştür. 30 Ağustos, Yunan birliklerinin Türkiye'den ayrıldığı günün başlangıcı olmasına rağmen, sembolik olarak ülke topraklarının geri alındığı günü temsil ediyor.

Bu yıl 30 Ağustos kutlamaları için İzmir'deydim. İzmir Devlet Türk Dünyası Dans ve Müzik Topluluğu sanatçılarının sahneye koyduğu 'Son Söz' oyununun performansını izledim ve fotoğraf çektim. Dansçı kalabalığının arkasında büyük bir orkestra vardı. Projenin genel sanat yönetmenliğini Şavk Eryürek yaptı ve iyi bir iş çıkardığını söyleyebilirim.

2022 dünyasında yaşayan ben savaşa inanmıyorum. Tabii mecbur kalmadıkça. Milliyetçi fikirler bana uzak.
Geçmişte çok acılar yaşanmış olsa da; bu topraklarda birlikte yaşadığımız Rumlar, Ermeniler ve Kürtler ve diğer halklar; onlar benim erkek ve kız kardeşlerim.

p.s: Bu kadar çok fotoğraf çekmemin sebebi yeni aldığım Sony FE 50MM f/1.8 lensi denemekti.
