Old-fashioned coffee
Today I had no gas to make my Italian coffee maker, so I ran in search of a solution at home.
When I was a kid my parents used this method, which I will show you in the photos below:
The first thing to do was to heat water in this rice cooker, taking advantage of the electricity that had recently been put in the house (power cuts in Cuba are deadly).
Then we took the coffee powder that my wife bought in her birthplace, (which by the way, is much better than any imported coffee bought in any market in the country) and I put it in this cloth bag, as it is still done in several rural areas of my country. I remember that until a few years ago, these bags were sold everywhere in the city, because the Italian coffee makers were not so easy to buy.
Finally we add the almost boiling water (assuming it is at 99 degrees Celsius) and let the coffee freely fill the container that you are seeing in the previous photo. Of course, a fair measure of water is needed, so that the final product is not watery, but stronger than a fitness athlete.
Sugar should not be missing, but the goal is to make it as bitter as possible, because anyone who drinks sweet coffee is not considered a Cuban citizen, we expel him from the country.
And well friends, as you can see, there is no obstacle that prevents a coffee lover from enjoying his daily dose of pure caffeine. Thanks to my parents' teaching, my wife and I were able to accomplish our daily goal. See you in a future story.
Café a la antigua, creo que ese remedio es más provechoso que usar la cafetera cuando no tengamos luz jejeje
Y dilo. Solo que tener corriente esta vez fue la solución, porque de gas nada 😂😂
