Hello everyone and happy Friday. Thank God It's Friday!!! Today is the official last day of work down here for civil servants anyway.

Gentlemen, there are interesting facts in the world of historyfor today. Now, do you know that on this day in 1989, the American rhythm-and-blues (R&B) singer, songwriter, and actor Chris Brown whose full name is Christopher Maurice Brown was born in Tappahannock, Virginia, U.S.A. Happy birthday to 'CB'.

Do you also know that on this day in 1988, the British pop singer and songwriter Adele whose full name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was born in Tottenham, London, England. Happy birthday to her.

Also, on this day in 1818, the German philosopher, Karl Marx, whose full name is Karl Heinrich Marx was born in Trier, Rhine province, Prussia [Germany].

Moreso, on this day in 1813, Sren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher of religion who is credited with founding existentialist philosophy, was born in Copenhagen.

Finally, on this day in 1862, Mexico defeated Napoleon III's French forces at the Battle of Puebla, a victory that became a symbol of the country's defiance of foreign rule and is today commemorated as Cinco de Mayo, a national holiday.
