Larry Is Alive 20 July 2024: I Am Alive Challenge
Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for saturday, the 20th day of July, 2024. The football season is about to begin again with most teams shaping up for it. Some are reinforcing personnel and also playing some warm up matches. Manchester United is not left out. Today, Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill scored goals as United defeated Rangers 2-0 at Murrayfield in a friendly match.
Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.
Larry begins his look at today in history from space exploration. He finds out that on this day in 1969, the Eagle lunar landing module, carrying U.S. astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin ("Buzz") Aldrin, arrived on the Moon, and Armstrong became the first person to step foot on its surface several hours later.
From with the world of space exploration, Larry finds out that on this day in 1976, the Viking 1 lander touched down at Chryse Planitia on Mars.
From the world of space exploration, Larry goes to the events of WWII. He finds out that on this day in 1944, during WWII, German military officers attempted to murder Adolf Hitler in the July Plot.
From the events of WWII, Larry goes to Russia. He finds out that on this day in 1917, following the July Days demonstrations, Prince Georgy Yevgenyevich Lvov resigned as Prime Minister of Russia's Provisional Government.
From Russia, Larry goes to Mexico. He finds out that on this day in 1966, Enrique Peña Nieto, a Mexican politician of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (Partido Revolucionario Institucional; PRI), who served as President of Mexico from 2012 to 2018 was born in Atlacomulco, Mexico. Prior to becoming President, he was governor of México from 2005 until 2011.
Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Mexico. He finds out that on this day in 1947, Carlos Santana, a Mexican-born American musician whose popular music blended rock, jazz, blues, and Afro-Cuban rhythms with a Latin flavour was born in Autlán de Navarro, Mexico.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
