Larry Is Alive #107 I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone. It's the beginning of the week and Larry braces up for the week long activities as he had rested well enough. Turning his attention once again to the ongoing Women's World Cup 2023 co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia, Larry felt sorry for the ladies from Panama as the Seleção (Brazilian Women's football team) ran riot and thumped the "Las Canaleras" by 4-0. That's a perfect score really. New Zealand takes on the Philippines while Switzerland squares up against Norway. Larry then turns his attention to look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the events of the WWII. He finds out that the Majdanek concentration and extermination camp on the outskirts of Lublin, Poland, was liberated by Soviet forces on this day in 1944.

Larry moves over to the world of music and entertainment generally. He finds out that on this day in 1969, Jennifer Lopez, an American actress and singer who was one of Hollywood's highest-paid Latina actresses and later found crossover success in the music industry with a series of pop records, was born in Bronx, New York, U.S.A.

Larry remembers most of J.Lo's songs, as she is fondly called. And these include: "Papi", "Ain't It Funny", "If You Had My Love", "All I Have ft. L.L. Cool J", "Love Don't Cost a Thing" and "Ain't Your Mama". These are really cool songs of J.Lo which Larry loves to listen. Well, I'll leave with you just three of them. The first will be:

Larry remains with the entertainment industry as he finds out that Saving Private Ryan, a Tom Hanks-led World War II drama that won five Academy Awards, including best director for Steven Spielberg, was released on this day in1998.

Finally, Larry decides to round off his look at today in history from Africa. Larry finds out that on this day in 2012, John Evans Atta Mills, a Ghanaian politician and scholar who was also a one time President of Ghana between 2009–2012 died in Accra, Ghana.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry sips his remaining coffee and then leaves to begin his deliveries.
