Lenzburg Castle
Lenzburg Castle situated on a prominent hill in canton of Aargau, was created over approximately 1000 years of construction work. The castle serves several purposes, as part of the historical museum and the stapfer house for for cultural or private events. Lenzburg Castle is one of the oldest and most important castles in Switzerland. Its location is not just scenic but also strategig chosen for its defensive advantages.
Its architecture is a blend of Romanesque and Gothic style with fortified stone walls and tower and a central keep thet has stood since the 11th century. Now let's take a walk around the castle.
Between the 13th and 14th centuries, the castle came into the possession of the Habsburgs as an imperial palace. In the museum you can see the everyday life of medieval knights and noblemen and in the prison you can discover the conditions of the 17th century penitentiary at first hand. About three hundred and seventy steps lead you from Lenzburg town up to the castle gate, and more than twenty steps to the take you to the top floor, also very good for sporty people.
Strolling along the paths feels like stepping back in time, the panoramic viewpoints invite you to take a break.
a view of the city from the top
Children can dress up in medieval costumes, imagine themselvesas knights or princesses. It is also for children a magical setting to conect with history as well as to explorethe mysterious paths.
A legend say that a dragon was once to live on the hill before it became home to the castle.
In any case the castle is a place for living history offering relax and enjoy themselves.
Medieval castle gardens, some of which were actually located outside the strongholds have apperance of cottage gardens.

Hey @almi you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘
Wow what a place!!
As much as I love hearing the story of old things, I like seeing them how they are today and the transition through the ages and occupation. When they are a beacon of history and used to educate the current generation on the centuries that lead us here, the best.
Awesome tour and world map peg!
Welcome, many thanks!
The structures are amazing, I'd love to be in such a place.
