Around the federal Palace, the Parliament building and square

Today I invite you arond the Parliament building in Bern it consists on three interconnected buildings, was built according to the plans of Swiss-Austrian arhitect Hans Wilhelm Auer from 1894 - 1902. The impressive building with the striking green dome in its center and two smaller ones to the right and left, it is the seat of the government of Switzerland and parliament of the country.

Depending on the season, you can visit near a market on the Federal Square, have fun with the 26 water fountains or go ice skating in winter, a guided tour of the historic halls is also possible, just book in advance, on Saturdays there are also guided tours in English.

The Marzili railroad neighborhood to the Parliament building, the federal road with the picturesque Marzili district of Bern. Has been in service since 1885 and is the fastest way from Bern station to the Aare river and the Marzili baths, one of the shortest public funicular in Europe.
