The Magical Issue ~ Splinterlands | Social Media Challenge
Hello, splinter-warriors. I hope you all are doing well.
Today, I will share a battle that exploded with energy which was a bombastic ending with both parties going all out for the sweet RP.
Without further ado, let's begin!
Battle Conditions
The mana cap is 58 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Fire, Nature, Life, and Dragon. With such a huge mana cap, any party can easily make up a deck with tanky monsters mixed with Gladiator monsters for the extra edge. Additionally, both of us used the same
Battle Rules:-
- Wands Out: Only monsters with magic attackers may be used in battle.
- Explosive Weaponry: All monsters have the blast ability.
- Equalizer: The initial health of all monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health.
Battle Details
Let's start from my side:
Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: Increase in magic damage by 1 for all ally magic attackers)(Level 2)
Tank: Moxian Rebel(Ability: Weapon Training).
Magic Attackers: Suidae Shaman(Ability: Recharge), Regal Peryton(Ability: Flying), Kron The Undying(Ability: Heal), Magi of Chaos(No Ability), Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank Heal).
My strategy was to use tanky monsters in the back while having low HP monsters in the front as a shield. I put 2 such monsters as shields in the first 2 positions while the rest were there to cause real damage. I put a tank healer in the back so that at the end of every round I would have extra HP. I also used a buff monster in the middle of the deck that had heal ability. That way, it would survive longer should the first 3 monsters fall.
My overall damage was 9 for every odd-numbered round while for every even-numbered round, I would have 15 damage. An addition of magic damage by 6 through summoner buff. For every even-numbered round, the addition of the blast damage comes to 8, thus a total of 23 damage per round. For every even-numbered round, the blast damage would come to 11, therefore a total of 26 damage. The healing would be a constant 6 per round.
Now for the opposition:
Summoner: Obsidian(Ability: Increase in magic damage by 1 for all ally magic attackers)(Gold Foil Level 5)
Tank: Mycelic Slipspawn(Ability: Taunnt, Force Field).
Magic Attackers: Magi of Chaos(No Ability), Goblin Psychic(Ability: Tank Heal), Regal Peryton(Ability: Flying), Venari Spellsmith(Ability: Dispel, Amplify).
His strategy was to divert all the damage toward his tank while his monster with no ability would take the blast damage. He also used a tank healer, which could take away a monster's ability to heal up, in the middle to heal his tank at the end of each round while doing some damage. Lastly, at the end of the deck he used 2 monsters with no real ability in the back.
His overall damage per round is 10 with 3 healing. With the summoner buff, it comes to an aggregate of 16 damage. Adding in the blast damage, it would come to a total of 25 damage per round.
Major Events
After half of the match had passed, the first monster to fall was my tank which I had accounted for.
At the start of the round, it was my Shaman that fell as I had predicted. All this effort also brought his tank to a low HP.
After half the round had passed, his tank fell and the game was now a true 4 v 4.
Just a few turns later, his Magi of Chaos had fallen but not before eliminating my Peryton.
Near the end of the round, my second tank had fallen but not before injuring his prized monster.
After half the round passed, his beast of a monster was finally taken down while he still had a monster with full HP in the back.
And near the end of the round, his Peryton bit the dust leaving his only monster to fend for itself as the game turned into a classic 1 v 2.
At the end of the round, his monster was finally brought to the ground as my Magi was brought to full HP thanks to Goblin.
Results
He would've won it if only he had more monsters in his arsenal. He didn't get to use as many monsters as I had and paid the price for it in rating. What's more interesting is the fact that he would've easily won if he had another bulky monster. He used only 5 monsters and brought down the deck of 6 monsters with ease in the first 2 rounds but the difference started to come out after a drawn-out battle. This is precisely why renting monsters is crucial to stay and win in the Gold Leagues.
