Descent of the Palm Trees of Chacao 2024 [ING/ESP]
El día de ayer Sábado 23 de Marzo de 2024 se celebró la bajada de los Palmeros de Chacao una tradición que da el comienzo a la Semana Santa en esta comunidad.
Este gran evento es una de las expresiones culturales más antiguas de el país, ya que según testimonios de feligreses presentes dicen que tuvo sus inicios aproximadamente en el siglo 17.
Los Palmeros suben al Cerro el Ávila específicamente a la comunidad de Sabas Nieves unos días antes del domingo de ramos para recolectar las palmas que serán entregadas y bendecidas el día antes mencionado.
El día sábado bajan en procesión hasta la iglesia de Chacao acompañados de Miles de feligreses y de otras manifestaciones culturales entre las cuales podemos nombrar: San Juan, San Pedro y La burriquita y por primera los acompaño Los diablos danzantes de yare. En un próximo post haré énfasis en cada una de estas tradiciones culturales.
Este es un evento reconocido a nivel mundial donde vienen tanto personas como medios de comunicación de todas partes del mundo.
Una experiencia inigualable e inolvidable que de verdad vale la pena vivirla. Un encuentro de fe, alegría y tradición.

Yesterday, Saturday, March 23, 2024, the descent of the Palmeros de Chacao was celebrated, a tradition that begins Holy Week in this community.
