Pavo real, ritual de apareamiento 🦚

I have to confess that I knew absolutely nothing about peacocks, I had only seen one in the park in the city where I lived and it wasn't a big deal, because I never saw it with its feathers spread. However, this bird catches my attention because it is a very exotic bird with bright colors and a majestic and colorful tail, it is a truly exceptional bird! 😍

I never thought one day, not even a remote thought, that I would have the opportunity to live so closely with these birds, by God, I have them as pets! 😃

I explain to you, where I live and my husband works is a natural environment and it is a very large piece of land where there are also many animals that I never thought I would see in my life. Among others, I have been able to see several types of pheasant, these are birds of different colors and very beautiful, there are also two pairs of two species of geese, black swans, there was an extra cute Moroccan and of course the peacocks. There are three males and three females, one of them is white, all the others are blue and green. I was impressed when I saw them for the first time, they fly towards the trees and roofs, they also make very loud sounds very similar to the meow of a cat but higher pitched.

Previously I also did some work on the site, but now I will dedicate myself to doing other tasks, the truth is that while I was working I was able to see for the first time that the turkeys extended their tails and of course I tried to take photos of them as close as I could, but the shots I got never exceeded my expectations, plus I couldn't spend much time taking photos of them.

Today was different, you can say that a peacock and two peahens gave us a show in front of the house. I left some cabbage leaves on the grass on purpose so that some animal would eat them and happily the peacocks arrived. I suppose they are in the mating season, and just like other birds, peacocks, also demonstrate their beauty in front of their potential partner in order to finally mate. The males spend a lot of time displaying their back feathers in front of the candidates, shaking them making a sound similar to rain when it suddenly falls, and walking in front of them to impress them.

I started to put things together because of the behavior of these birds, I thought that's why when a person likes to dress up a lot to look pretty, we say that he or she is a "turkey" or "turkey" and with good reason! he he

The peahens are very difficult to convince, on this occasion, after a long time under siege and one almost falling for the charms of the peacock, in the end they decided to leave, leaving the turkey with its feathers spread.

Les tengo que confesar que no sabia absolutamente nada de los pavos reales, solo había visto un en el parque en la ciudad donde vivía y no fue la gran cosa, porque nunca lo vi con las plumas extendidas. Sin embargo esta ave me llama mucho la atención pues es un ave muy exótica de colores brillantes y con una cola majestuosa y colorida, es una ave realmente excepcional!

Nunca pense algún dia, ni un más remoto pensamiento, que yo tendría la oportunidad de convivir tan de cerca con estas aves, por Dios, las tengo como mascotas!. :D

Les explico, donde vivo y mi esposo trabaja es un ambiente natural y es un terreno muy grande donde además están muchos animales que en mi vida pense ver. Entre otros, he podido ver varios tipos de faisán, estas son aves de colores diferentes y muy bonitos, también hay dos parejas de dos especies de gansos, cisnes negros, había un marroquí lindo de más y por supuesto los pavos reales. Hay tres machos y tres hembras, una de ellas es blanca, todos los demás son de tonalidades, azul y verde. Me quedé impresionada cuando los vi por primera vez, volar hacia los arboles y los techados, también hacen sonidos muy fuertes muy parecidos al maullido de un gato pero mas agudo.

Espectaculo en frente de mi casa

Anteriormente yo también hacia algunos trabajos en el sitio, pero ahora me dedicaré a hacer otras labores, lo cierto es que mientras trabajaba pude ver por primera vez que los pavos extendían sus colas y por su puesto trataba de tomarles fotos lo mas cerca que podia, pero las tomas que conseguía nunca superaban mis expectativas, además, no podia dedicarme mucho tiempo a tomarles fotos.

Hoy fue diferente, se puede decir que nos dieron un espectáculo un pavo real y dos pavas en frente de la casa. Yo dejé unas hojas de repollo en la grama a propósito para que algún animal se las comiera y dichosamente llegaron los pavos reales. Supongo que están en época de apareamiento, y asi como otras aves, los pavos reales, también hacen una demostración de su belleza frente a su posible pareja para poder finalmente aparearse. Los machos pasan mucho tiempo desplegando sus plumas traseras frente a las candidatas, las sacuden haciendo un sonido parecido a la lluvia cuando cae de repente, y caminan en frende de ellas para dejaras impresionadas.

Me puse a atar cabos por la conducta de estas aves pense que de ahí que cuando una persona le gusta arreglarse mucho para verse bonita, decimos que es "pava" o "pavo" y con razón! jeje

las pavas son muy difíciles de convencer, en esta ocasión, luego de un buen tiempo en asedio y que por poco cae una a los encantos del pavo real, al final decidieron marcharse dejando al pavo con sus plumas extendidas.
