The Battle Ruleset
Rise of the commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
What doesn't not kill you: All Monters have the Enrage ability.
Unfortunately in my latest 20 games I didn't receive any ruleset with the weekly Equal Opportunity, so I had to choose one, which I thought is interesting especially against one of the most expensive summoner in the game, which is Lux Vega. This is a low mana cap battleand only two color is available to play the Life and Earth Splinters and of course with all the Neutral cards.
The Rise of the Commons ruleset is quite a difficult one, because you can not rely on any Epic or Legendary card throughout this battle except the summoner of course. 😝
My Team Composition
Obsidian is a pretty strong summoner especially, because she increase the magic damage of all of her monster with one. The magic attack always ignores the enemy armor (except Void Armor) and always hit his target.
I used the Chaos Agent as a mini tank, because he cost only one mana and if I am lucky he might be able to dodge some melee and ranged attacks.
The Mycelic Morphoid is also cost one mana, but he has two melee attack and the Thorns ability, which will reflect 2 damage back to t heir attackers.
The Fungus Flinger is one of the new soulbound card with the Martyr ability, which means when he dies he will increase all the stats for the two monster next to him.
The Pelacor Mercenary is an excellent odd mana monster, because he has the self Heal ability with quite a lot health and attack. The Flying makes him to evade the incoming melee and ranged attacks if he triggers it.
The Venari Seedsmith cost only 5 mana and his most important ability apart from his 3 damage is his Poison ability, which will damage his target in every round with two if he triggers it. The Scavanger ability makes this monster to gain 1 max health each time any monster dies on the battlefield.
The Regal Peryton is protecting my backline from the enemy Sneak monsters thanks to his high speed and Flying ability. The Obsidian will increase his damage to three, which is quite significant.

The +1 armor from Lux Vega made my strategy more difficult, because it took some time to damage down my enemies with that.
Luckily the Venari Seedsmith triggered his Poison on the Pelacor Mercenary and even though the Scavo Hireling repaired his armor all the time the Poison slowly reduced his health until the end of the fourth round when he finally died.
My opponent somehow managed to kill my Venari Seedsmith with his indirect Blast damage, but he couldn't do much against my Pelacor Mercenary who had increased his stats with the Martyr ability from the Fungus Flinger. The Enrage made my Mercenary and Peryton a lot stronger, so it was easy to finish off the game with them. 😀
Do you like Equal Opportunity? Why or why not?
Yes I like it, because it allows me to surprise my opponent with a different tactic than usual. Sadly I didn't received any battle with that, but I hope you liked my battle against Lux Vega.
