Splinterlands art contest | Bloody Lira The Dark
Hello friends! This week I wanted to do something different, normally my entries for the @Splinterlands contest try to be a little more attached to the original idea of the card, plus I like to reflect a little more fantasy theme mixed with semi realism, but for days I wanted to do something a little bloody and what better card for this theme than "Lira The Dark" is one of my favorite cards and in fact, the first one I drew, this would be the third time I make a FanArt of Lira and I love to see how each one is different from another, especially this one, in which I tried to give a more creepy approach to Lira and I also eliminated some elements of the jewelry to not saturate too much the final result, I also wanted to make her dress in a little different way, then I thought it would be interesting to reflect this ray of power that has the card of Lira The Dark in the original image but doing it in a different way, creating this kind of bright lines that are reflected in the skin, it was something I did to try and I ended up liking it a lot, I feel that it looks like fire running through her veins, I was working on this drawing for about 3 days and I feel very satisfied, I hope you like this version with a more powerful touch of dark.
I made a sketch which I passed to clean and did not add so many details to not get confused but I already had the idea in mind, then I chose the colors to work which were skin colors in a pink, brown and beige, I added a new layer where I put more colors to give the shape completely to the skin, then I started to mix all the colors to get a result of smooth skin, I also began to paint the blood lines under the eyes.
I added more details to the blood, it was really a long process since I had to play with many layer and brush styles to get good results, I put the base color on the hair which was a dark purple and I thought of making these light reflections on the skin with a very saturated red and a shiny layer style, then I painted the cap and I thought it was interesting to add some blood lines coming out of the hair, I continued painting the suit and used a very dark gray color to fill the whole dress, on the abdomen and arms I applied this same color but lowering the opacity to give that illusion of transparent fabric, I started adding lights and shadows to the clothes to give it volume and on the transparent sleeves I added a fabric with embroidery, I wanted to add this same effect on the abdomen but I loved how I had painted that part of the body to cover it with that fabric, it would be a crime.
I painted the background with blue tones, adding more light in the center and darkness in the edges, I also painted the earring in her ear and added more light details in certain areas that I wanted to highlight, to finish I edited the image increasing a little the saturation in some areas and playing a little more with the contrast.
