Bells using recycled materials

Saludos DIY! Hace mucho tiempo que no hacia alguna manualidad, sin embargo, el inicio de clases viene de la mano con mucho trabajo tanto para los hijos como para las madres, y por eso en esta segunda semana de clases el colegio está pidiendo la colaboración de cada padre en realizar decoraciones navideñas para adornar la institución, a pesar de faltar aun dos meses para la navidad, por ordenes de Voldemort la “navidad se adelanto en Venezuela” en fin, la maestra nos envió un tutorial para crear estas campanas que me parecieron super lindas, seguí paso a paso cada parte del tutorial pero lo hice diferente en cuestión de diseño y colores, hoy quiero compartirles como lo hice y el resultado final de este trabajo que realmente es bastante sencillo y bonito para decorar, además de que podemos reutilizar botellas, espero que les guste.

It's been a long time since I did a craft, however, the start of school comes with a lot of work for both children and mothers, and so in this second week of school the school is asking for the collaboration of each parent in making Christmas decorations to decorate the institution, despite still missing two months for Christmas, by orders of Voldemort “Christmas came early in Venezuela” anyway, the teacher sent us a tutorial to create these bells that I found super cute, I followed step by step each part of the tutorial but I did it differently in terms of design and colors, today I want to share with you how I did it and the final result of this work that is really quite simple and beautiful to decorate, plus we can reuse bottles, I hope you like it.

MATERIALES

  • Dos botellas de refresco con sus tapas, de uno o dos litros, en mi caso use de dos litros.

  • Foami del color que prefieras puede ser normal o con escarcha}

  • Dos bolas de navidad pequeñas

  • Tijeras

  • Silicon caliente

  • Cordón

  • Tela roja para hacer el lazo

  • Decoraciones al gusto

MATERIALS

  • Two soda bottles with their lids, of one or two liters, in my case I used two liters.

  • Foam in the color of your choice can be normal or frosted}

  • Two small Christmas balls

  • Scissors

  • Hot silicon

  • Cord

  • Red fabric to make the bow

  • Decorations as desired

Proceso/Process

Comencé recortando las botellas de refresco, en esta oportunidad solo usaría las puntas, luego recorte en tiras fomi verde escarchado, en el video decía que serian tiras de 2 cm sin embargo, no me gusta trabajar midiendo, asi que lo recorte sin medir, con este fomi verde empecé a forrar la parte inferior de las botellas, pegándolo con silicón caliente, tome las bolas de navidad y les coloque un hilo grueso, ya que el hilo que tenían era demasiado corto, asi que lo recorte y le amarre este hilo que es mas largo, pase el hilo por el orificio de la tapa del refresco.

I started cutting out the soda bottles, this time I would only use the tips, then I cut the frosted green fomi into strips, in the video it said that they would be 2 cm strips, however, I don't like to work measuring, so I cut it without measuring, with this green fomi I started to line the bottom of the bottles, gluing it with hot silicone, take the christmas balls and put a thick thread, since the thread they had was too short, so I cut it and tie this thread that is longer, pass the thread through the hole in the lid of the soda.

Pegue la punta del hilo a la tapa del refresco nuevamente usando silicón caliente, después cerré la tapa y verifique que las bolas de navidad quedaran justo como quería, con fomi de un color verde más claro empecé a forrar la tapa del refresco, primero corte unas tiras largas y las coloque en los bordes y luego recorte dos círculos para cubrir la parte superior de la tapa.

I glued the tip of the thread to the soda lid again using hot silicone, then I closed the lid and verified that the christmas balls were just as I wanted, with a lighter green fomi I started to line the soda lid, first I cut some long strips and placed them on the edges and then I cut out two circles to cover the top of the lid.

Con un trozo de fomi uní ambas tapas creando asi la forma de campanas, luego empecé a decorar con mas detalles, por suerte tenía unos lazos navideños guardados y me ahorre la parte de hacerlos, asi que simplemente lo pegue en el centro frontal de las tapas de refresco. Conseguí unos hilos dorados los cuales quise añadir a mis campanas, los pegue en forma de espiral, para finalizar tenia que colocarle un hilo para poder colgar las campanas, tome el mismo hilo que use anteriormente y forre las puntas con fomi para que se adhiera mejor, las pegue en la parte superior de las tapas.

With a piece of fomi I joined both lids creating the shape of bells, then I started to decorate with more details, luckily I had some Christmas bows saved and I saved myself the part of making them, so I simply glued them in the front center of the soda lids. I got some golden threads which I wanted to add to my bells, I glued them in a spiral shape, to finish I had to put a thread to hang the bells, I took the same thread I used before and lined the ends with fomi to adhere better, I glued them on the top of the lids.

Me gusto mucho hacer esta manualidad y aunque no quedaron perfectas, esperaba que quedara peor, al final siento que se ven lindas solo tengo que limpiar un poco los rastros de silicón caliente que siguen colgando en hilos en algunas partes jajaja, pero fue bastante entretenido.

I really enjoyed making this craft and although they were not perfect, I expected it to be worse, in the end I feel that they look nice I just have to clean a little traces of hot silicone that are still hanging in threads in some parts hahaha, but it was quite entertaining.

Me sorprende que ya hayan comenzado las creaciones y decoraciones navideñas jeje el espiritu navideño ya se esta sintiendo 😂 es una linda epoca, el ultimo trimestre del año. Estan muy bonitas las campanas ❤️
