Purpose

The purpose of this challenge is to creatively get out of your own way, get on your own side, and engage whatever version of yourself is best at creating a five-star, banger post in the month of February 2024.

Whom Is This For?

This challenge is for those who craft content, dreemers, hivians, and whomever else wants to level up their enjoyment by using design thinking to create one high-quality post over the course of three weeks.

This is an opportunity for those who tend to put aside their creativity for the more practical supper-making, deadline-chasing kind of living. But for the first three weeks of February, we invite you to take a moment from running past and avoiding the rabbit holes to slip into one. You read this right! Grant yourself the grace to let your mind ruminate and expand upon an idea with generous boundaries and community support.

What is the challenge?

You’ll craft a Cover Story, an example of your work that makes your profile shine, a post that makes you feel good every time you see it. Creating your cover story using design thinking, as we will introduce it during this challenge, is no different than writing while ambitious, except it offers a replicable framework to leverage your effort and do your future creator-self a favor time and again.

Go for a post unlike anything you've ever done before. Let's engage in whatever version of ourselves is best at creating that showboat post. Let’s dial up the pleasure of making something to share with the world, in a way that is not perfect, but is signature – a gem.

It's your cover story, so anything can be the hero or feature topic. It could be a work of literature, journalism, visual or even performing arts. Shine a bright light on the hero on the podium and tell us the story, the same as a cover story of a magazine or e-zine.

Breakthroughs Happen When We Work Together!

Creative support is available five days a week to build community and encourage you to build your prize post.

We’ll start with a “soft open” on Friday, 2 February, which is the information session. Saturday, 3 February will be the orientation for the challenge. Then, starting Monday, 5 February and throughout the following three weeks, the CWH Founder @alessandrawhite and the crew of Creative Work Hour will host free creative support sessions every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 12-1pm EST in the CWH Discord server.

Choose two sessions per week you can attend for the three-week challenge. It’s okay to attend more, just mark your calendars!

February is here, so consider the challenge issued! Start looking back at things you've started and abandoned, or maybe look to an idea you never got around to developing.

Oh, this looks really amazing, dreemie sent me here and I think I love the challenge already, I love to be creative and to think outside the box, more to that I love to meet new people and make more friends so here is a perfect challenge for me.

I've heard you speak on #pypt and I must confess you have a soothing voice, so what's there to miss about this challenge?

I will so be jumping on this one with all of me, doing my very best to see a beautiful outcome.

I think this is the kind of challenge that would make us harness that part of our creativity that we may not have been exploring. I've heard my friend, Olujay say a lot go beautiful things about CWH, the familial and comfortable vibe you all have developed amongst yourselves that will let you work freely and with comfort.

A true showcase of creativity, building up an idea bit by bit till it becomes something worth publishing. Which is quite different from what most of us are used to, I guess it is an opportunity for us to dig deep and research more about our content.

It was stated that the information session and orientation will occur on CWH discord server but the link to the discord server was not included or did I miss it?

Well, dreemie sent me here but most importantly I wanted to satisfy my curiosity. Looking forward to participating in the challenge.

Oh, wow... I thought it was Zoom. But i am mostly glad it is on Discord. I have once attended the one done on Discord server. I think you were travelling that day and handing over to someone.

My calendar is already marked and waiting patiently to walk my way into Discord. It is a very nice way to go, I must confess.

This challenge could be the push for that bold step. There are some projects we began but never finished and some creative ideas we have yet to bring to fruition. Now is the time to build and bring out that creative part of us.

This is a wonderful challenge but I’m kinda struggling to understand what I need to do. I pray I get a hang of it before the time of the challenge.

I have heard your voice a couple of times @alessandrawhite and hearing it again and again is going to be a delight.

This is awesome! Dreemie sent me here and I am looking forward to dropping back into your sessions @alessandrawhite - I could do with some inspiration 🥰 I haven't joined a full CWH session before, just listened in on the panel chats that you ladies present. The collaboration sounds perfect. I need to get my focus back in place as far as writing is concerned, and maybe a little nudge in confidence !LOLZ Design thinking sounds intriguing! I shall do my best to make it tomorrow. It's my busy week at work but fingers crossed it all runs smoothly. !LUV !LADY

Oh my dear @alessandrawhite , this is awesome. Doing something different from the regular things we do before. Looks like awakening the giant within us? Or perhaps unleashing our creative side, Hehe... it's interesting and I have been thinking of what to come up with. I hope that my brain will obey to this humble call...lolz

I was skeptical because I thought that this was something that was going to put me out there. However, as I read every word, the tightness in my chest loosened. I want to do this. I've listened to you before and you sound so…im not sure of the words to use but the feeling is sweet, warm, and welcoming. Im glad “DREEMIE SENT ME HERE.

I have always struggled with being creative and when I try it gets tough, I just abandon it and run away. I sure would be attending today's CWH and would try not miss any for the rest of the month as I want to be better with my creativity. Thank you @alessandrawhite for this wonderful opportunity.

The term "profile piece' is constantly tripping me up. While lying down to sleep I finally got what the issue is. I have not written near enough to have a profile piece, even in my mind. It is like I have collecting things to write about but have not put in the hours to actually write it out. At the same time I do find the entire exercise to be something unique and not to be missed. So I am thinking of taking a different angle and aim to write a piece I could be proud of, irrespective of anything I have written till now. Thanks for the session today, this satori like thought process seems to have come post that @alessandrawhite
