Visit to Castel Ivano, Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro!
Hi everyone, even if I haven't been in touch lately, I haven't stopped exploring, in fact today I want to show you a little pearl that I recently discovered.
Every time I took the Valsugana state road 47 to go to Trentino Alto Adige, I looked at a castle on the right and said to myself: sooner or later I have to go there!
The time has come a few days ago.
The weather wasn't very promising so without taking any risks and traveling a long way by car, I turned towards Castel Ivano, a town of just over 3000 inhabitants, made famous by the castle which gave its name to the town.

It is a very quiet and little frequented village located at 506 meters above sea level.
When I parked the car right in the center of the town, the only noise I heard was that of the fountain embellished with a very original sculpture.

A few meters away there is a votive aedicule, continuing a little further you go down the asphalt road and you begin to see a beautiful panorama that I would never have expected.

While walking it is impossible not to look at the imposing castle that towers above everything.
ITA
It had just rained, the air was fresh and clean.
A breath of wind gradually cleaned the sky and a new and satisfying landscape opened up around me.
ITA
Aveva appena piovuto, l'aria era fresca e pulita.
There was a nice stone path that went through a vine and a large pasture, a really relaxing walk.
ITA
A very simple church could be glimpsed, well inserted in that landscape context.

Every now and then I turned to look at the castle, I had to visit it!
ITA
One look over the fence and I was no longer alone, there were horses, cows and sheep to keep me company!
ITA
I had almost reached the church that I had noticed previously, but before that another photo of the castle could not be missing: the branches of the trees as a frame and a bit invasive in this beautiful perspective, the village cemetery.
ITA
And finally here is the church... I made a visit to appease my curiosity, however I didn't stay long...

Walking back towards the castle entrance I met a local man and sadly he informed me that the castle was closed for a wedding celebration! What bad luck!
ITA
However, I went towards the entrance and found this sign with the contacts for requesting a guided tour.
The castle is a private residence, so to visit it you need to contact the owners first!
I just had a taste of this fascinating place, I will definitely be back to visit the castle too!
ITA

This village is situated in such a picturesque landscape. I can imagine having a cup of coffee in the morning on a balcony with such views.
The castle is impressive. Have you been inside too? I know that many castles in Italy are private and you can't visit them. Is this also one of such castles?
Thank you for sharing!
I thought the same! How nice it must be to wake up with that view!
Unfortunately the castle was closed for a wedding, and you can only access it by reservation.
I will visit it sooner or later for sure!
