Exploring the valley of the Sphinxes in the Lessinia Regional Natural Park - Velo Veronese - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hi friends, today I'm telling you about the time I went to the Lessinia regional natural park in the province of Verona for the first time.

Ciao amici, oggi vi parlo di quella volta che sono stato per la prima al parco naturale regionale della Lessinia in provincia di Verona.

Exploring on google maps, one particular place caught my attention: the valley of the sphinxes

The captivating name and the positive reviews convinced me so without thinking too much I got into the car and in a couple of hours I was there!

Esplorando su google maps, ha attirato la mia attenzione un posto in particolore: la valle delle sfingi

Il nome accattivante e le recensioni positive mi hanno convinto così senza pensarci troppo sono salito in auto e in un paio d'ore ero arrivato!

After parking the car I walked along a narrow paved road where I met some nice grazing cows.

Dopo aver parcheggiato l'auto ho camminato lungo una stretta strada asfaltata dove ho incontrato delle simpatiche mucche al pascolo.

The temperature was quite stiff so I didn't want to linger too much and proceeded towards a sunnier area.

La temperatura era abbastanza rigida così non ho voluto soffermarmi troppo e procedere verso una zona più soleggiata.

Once I passed the Cuneck refuge, which judging by the many people is very popular, I came to a sort of crossroads.
There I chatted with two hikers and asked what would be the best route to reach the Valley of the Sphinxes, so I took the path to the left which is slightly uphill.

Una volta superato il rifugio Cuneck, che a giudicare dalle molte persone è molto frequentato, sono giunto ad una sorta di bivio.
Lì ho attaccato bottone con due escursioniste e ho chiesto quale sarebbe stato il migliore percorso per raggiungere la Valle delle Sfingi, così ho preso il sentiero a sinistra che è leggermente in salita .

I was at an altitude of 1200 meters and luckily there was no wind, so I walked thinking only about enjoying the landscape and the clean air before atmospheric pollution.

Ero a 1200 metri di altitudine e per fortuna non c'era vento, quindi camminavo pensando solo al godermi il paesaggio e l'aria pulita prima di inquinamento atmosferico.

The path was very rustic, made of stones and at every step that natural environment made me want to continue and find out what awaited me.

Il sentiero era molto rustico, fatto di sassi e ad ogni passo quell'ambiente naturale mi invogliava a proseguire e scoprire cosa mi aspettava.

I had almost reached the top of the hill and there were some beautiful little clouds that showed me the direction.

Ero quasi giunto sulla sommità del colle e c'erano delle belle nuvolette che mi indicavano la direzione.

The more I climbed, the more the panorama left me speechless.

Più salivo e più il panorama mi lasciava a bocca aperta.

The edges of the path were bordered to the north by a low wall made of dry-laid stones, the border to the south was made of large stone slabs laid vertically. I've never seen a wall built like this.

I bordi del sentiero erano delimitati verso nord da un muretto fatto di pietre posate a secco, il borda a sud era fatto da gradi lastre di pietra posate in verticale. Non avevo mai visto un muretto fatto in questo modo.

Walking that trail was a really pleasant experience that instilled a sense of joy in me.

Camminare su quel sentiero è stata un'esperienza davvero piacevole che mi ha instillato un senso di gioia.

At one point the path became slightly steep until I came to a sign that signaled to turn left.

Ad un certo punto il sentiero si fatto leggermente scoseso finchè sono arrivato ad un cartello che segnalava di girare a sinistra.

The further I proceeded, I saw boulders and stones emerge from the ground, making the environment rustic and at the same time suggestive.

Più procedevo e vedevo affiorare dal terreno massi e pietre che rendevano l'abiente rustico e allo stesso tempo suggestivo.

At one point you could see a building surrounded by large boulders and rocks.

Ad un certo si intravedeva un edificio attorniato da gradi massi e rocce.

The closer I got, the more I was fascinated by huge stones that dotted the lawn.

Pià mi avvicinavo e più venivo affascinato da enormi sassi che costellavano il prato.

As I walked it felt like entering a natural labyrinth.

Mano a mano che camminavo sembrava di entrare in un labirinto natural.

To make the environment even more mysterious there was the light that cut through those masses of stone creating ever-changing effects every time I looked at a point.

A rendere l'ambiente ancora più misterioso c'era la luce che tagliava quelle masse di pietra creando degli effetti sempre diversi ogni volta che guardavo un punto.

I really liked this point with the trees as it gave the impression of being on a natural terrace, almost a spontaneous garden.
Then the sunset light gave that extra touch of magic.

Questo punto con gli alberi mi è piaciuto molto in quanto dava l'impressione di essere in un terrazzamento naturale, quasi un giardino spontaneo.
Poi la luce del tramonto dava quel tocco di magia in più.

If these rocks could talk, who knows how many things they saw!

Se queste rocce potessero parlare, chissà quante cose hanno visto!

The sun was going down so I decided to continue to close the excursion with a round trip.

Il sole stava calando così ho deciso di proseguire per chiudere l'escursione con un giro ad anello.

I passed a gate near a house and continued admiring the warm sunlight resting on the vegetation and rocks.

Ho superato un cancello nei pressi di una casa e ho proseguito ammirando la luce calda del sole poggiarsi sulla vegetazione e le rocce.

At the end of the excursion there was a rock with a particular mushroom shape that towered over the landscape...

A simple but interesting excursion that I will do again in the future.
The part of the Valley of the Sphinxes with the large boulders is very vast and deserves to be explored.

It is an area that also has potential for photo shoots!

A conclusione dell'escursione c'era una roccia dalla forma particolare a fungo che svettava sul paesaggio...
Una semplice ma interessante escursione che farò di nuovo in futuro.

La parte della Valle delle Sfingi con i grandi massi è molto vasta e merita di essere esplorata.
E' una zona che ha del potenziale anche per shooting fotografici!
