Excursion to the Fontane Bianche Oasis in Sernaglia della Battaglia, province of Treviso - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Sernaglia della Battaglia is a small hidden jewel in the province of Treviso, surrounded by picturesque countryside and characterized by a tranquility that seems suspended in time. The other day we decided to take advantage of the summer climate and take an afternoon walk at the Fontane Bianche Naturalistic Oasis, a small pearl of biodiversity immersed in uncontaminated nature.

Sernaglia della Battaglia è un piccolo gioiello nascosto in provincia di Treviso, circondato da una campagna pittoresca e caratterizzato da una tranquillità che sembra sospesa nel tempo. L'altro giorno abbiamo deciso di approfittare del clima estivo e di fare una camminata pomeridiana all'Oasi Naturalistica Fontane Bianche, una piccola perla di biodiversità immersa nella natura incontaminata.

The sun was high in the sky when we arrived at the entrance to the oasis. The first thing that struck us was the freshness of the air and the singing of the birds that welcomed us. The trail was well marked, and we walked under the leafy green trees, with the soothing sound of water flowing nearby. Along the way, we passed small streams and wooden bridges that added a picturesque touch to the experience.

Il sole era alto nel cielo quando siamo arrivati all'ingresso dell'oasi. La prima cosa che ci ha colpito è stata la freschezza dell'aria e il canto degli uccelli che ci ha accolto. Il sentiero era ben segnato, e ci siamo incamminati sotto il verde frondoso degli alberi, con il suono rilassante dell'acqua che scorreva nelle vicinanze. Lungo il percorso, abbiamo attraversato piccoli ruscelli e ponticelli di legno che aggiungevano un tocco pittoresco all'esperienza.

We followed the main trail, which took us through a variety of natural habitats, including acacia forests, aspens... open clearings and wetlands. Along the way, we spotted several species of birds, butterflies and plants. It was a real pleasure for the eyes and the soul to immerse myself in the beauty of the surrounding nature.

Abbiamo seguito il sentiero principale, che ci ha portato attraverso una varietà di habitat naturali, tra cui boschi di acacie, pioppi... radure aperte e zone umide. Lungo il percorso, abbiamo avvistato diverse specie di uccelli, farfalle e piante. Era un vero piacere per gli occhi e per l'anima immergersi nella bellezza della natura circostante.

After a couple of hours of walking, we reached a scenic area overlooking a small lake surrounded by reeds. Here we stopped for a moment's break, enjoying the view and the silence interrupted only by the birds singing. It was the perfect place to relax and get some fresh air.

Dopo un paio d'ore di camminata, abbiamo raggiunto un'area panoramica che si affacciava su un laghetto circondato da canneti. Qui ci siamo fermati per un momento di pausa, godendoci la vista e il silenzio interrotto solo dal canto degli uccelli. Era il posto perfetto per rilassarsi e prendere una boccata d'aria fresca.

After our excursion, we decided to head to the Fish Festival also in Sernaglia della Battaglia, which had just started nearby. The party was set up in an outdoor area, with a large tent offering a variety of seafood delicacies. We took a tour and let ourselves be tempted by the delicious culinary offerings.

Dopo la nostra escursione, abbiamo deciso di dirigerci verso la Festa del Pesce sempre a Sernaglia della Battaglia, che era appena iniziata nelle vicinanze. La festa era allestita in un'area all'aperto, con un grande tendone dove offrivano una varietà di prelibatezze a base di pesce. Abbiamo fatto un giro e ci siamo lasciati tentare dalle deliziose proposte culinarie.

We started with a mixed seafood starter, which included fried calamari, prawns and more, all fried to perfection and served with hot polenta. It was crunchy and flavorful, the perfect way to start our dinner. Next, we opted for the spaghetti alla pescatora, with a rich sauce of fresh seafood and a touch of chilli that gave it a spicy kick. It was an al dente pasta dish that made us feel like we were sitting by the sea.

Abbiamo iniziato con un antipasto misto di pesce, che includeva frittura di calamari, gamberi e altro, tutto fritto alla perfezione e servito con polenta calda. Era croccante e saporito, il modo ideale per iniziare la nostra cena. Successivamente, abbiamo optato per gli spaghetti alla pescatora, con una salsa ricca di frutti di mare freschi e un tocco di peperoncino che gli conferiva un tocco piccante. Era un piatto di pasta al dente che ci ha fatto sentire come se fossimo seduti in riva al mare.

To conclude the dinner, we shared a fish salad, with octopus, shrimp, olives, celery, pepper all dressed with extra virgin olive oil and lemon. It was light and fresh, the perfect way to end such a rich dinner.

Per concludere la cena, abbiamo condiviso un'insalata di pesce, con polpo, gamberetti, olive, sedano, peperone tutto condito con olio extravergine d'oliva e limone. Era leggera e fresca, il modo perfetto per chiudere una cena così ricca.

As we enjoyed dinner, we chatted and giggled, satisfied with the day spent outdoors and the delicious food we had just enjoyed. The walk to Fontane Bianche and the dinner at the Fish Festival were unforgettable experiences that allowed us to appreciate the beauty of nature and the richness of local cuisine in one perfect day.

Mentre ci godevamo la cena, abbiamo chiacchierato e ridacchiato, soddisfatti della giornata trascorsa all'aria aperta e del delizioso cibo che avevamo appena gustato. La camminata a Fontane Bianche e la cena alla Festa del Pesce sono state esperienze indimenticabili che ci hanno permesso di apprezzare la bellezza della natura e la ricchezza della cucina locale in un unico giorno perfetto.
