Penha Garcia | Drone Aerial View - Portugal

COVER.jpg

Hello everybody :)

It's been so long since my last publication about travel and sharing some of the most interesting places in this small piece of land planted by the sea, that I no longer have time to publish it in the now dearly missed Pinmapple, but in this way I want to inaugurate a publication in this new community focused on the same adventurous and visually captivating aspect, where hikers, travelers and explorers from all over the world find a space to share a little of their travels and experiences.
Today I share the same place already shared by my wife, but from a different perspective ;) from an aerial perspective.

You can visit her blog where you can read a very interesting description of this same place, and observe her photographic shares, thus obtaining a perspective close to the ground.
Since we visited the same places, we agreed that we would visually record and describe them from different perspectives and demonstrate that it will be possible to obtain different approaches to the same place.

Penha Garcia is a small village located close to the border with Spain, in the Central region of Portugal in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
This small town is known for a significant historical heritage with remains dating back to medieval times, unique geology and picturesque landscapes.
The village is dominated by the castle of Penha Garcia, built in the 12th century by the Templars, on top of a hill offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding region. In addition to the castle, the village has a series of traditional schist and granite houses that maintain the typical architecture of the region.

But the true fame of this location comes from its impressive geology, especially the ichnofossils, which are trilobite footprints left in rocks dating back to the Ordovician period, around 480 million years ago.
It is on the famous walking route known as “Rastro da Penha” that these fossils can be viewed, providing a fascinating journey into Earth's geological past.

The aerial view allows you to appreciate the extent and complexity of these geological formations.
Unique rock remains and formations around the village are visible as distinct patterns and textures in the rock. The "Rastro da Penha" walking trail is a winding line that can be followed visually, highlighting the places where fossils are most abundant.

Penha Garcia is a place that combines natural beauty, historical interest and geological significance in a unique way for any visitor who has the possibility of passing through there, but especially for those people who have a real interest and pleasure in experiencing and viewing these natural beauties. .
The tranquility of the village and the kindness of its inhabitants provide a welcoming refuge, where you can appreciate the authenticity and charm of a lesser-known region, but extraordinarily rich in heritage and beauty.

The aerial image of Penha Garcia offers a fascinating perspective on how nature and history intertwine in this picturesque village. The contrast between the ancient castle at the top of the hill and the peaceful village below, with its small serpentine paths and traditional houses, creates a rich and evocative visual composition. The dam and surrounding natural landscapes add an element of tranquility and natural beauty that completes the picture. Photographing Penha Garcia from the air not only reveals a certain organized disorganization but also the interconnection of the village's elements with the surrounding nature.

Trails are visible as sinuous lines stretching across the landscape, many of which lead to points of geological interest or scenic views, they are discernible as thinner lines that weave across the terrain.
Around the village, the terrain is characterized by steep hills covered in varied vegetation. The mix of trees, shrubs and rocky areas creates a detailed and complex mosaic.

I hope you enjoyed this perspective :)
That´s all for today, Hope you like it :)

Always remember:

Value your time, because every fraction counts, and the price of anything is the amount of life you trade for it.
May the memories of the travels be eternalized in the photographs, and may the photographs transport us back to the travels ;)
