Macro Photography Session | Chestnut Hedgehog

COVER.jpg

Hello everyone :)

I present this macro photography session, having chosen a chestnut hedgehog as the subject.
In a first approach, it is tempting to give in to the conclusive idea that there is nothing interesting or worthy of recording there, in a hasty way an extremely limited visual scenario is presented, and all of this would be affirmative if it were not macro photography, because as has been proven several times and verified by me, the world of macro photography impresses and surprises, even in cases that we initially consider lost.
Yet another case in which the lens reveals the extraordinary thorny texture, highlighting each intricate detail, exposing the rustic and organic nature of the hedgehog with its earthy tones, adding to the equation the interaction of light and shadow, revealing a whole new scenario, where by sometimes the thorns appear to form an intricate tapestry, highlighting the complexity of the natural design.

Before moving onto the result...

My introductory thoughts about macro photography:

It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.

Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.

Let's now move onto the result:
