Asymmetric scenarios - Photography
Hi everyone :)
Hope to find you well!
Usually, when i take a picture, i always try to follow some pre-defined metrics that supposedly help in creating a visually balanced composition, such as the rule of thirds, which despite not being scientifically proven to be efficient or the true implication in the way the image is interpreted, it is based on principles of symmetry and visual flow that help to position important elements of the image in strategic places, applying the vanishing point, giving a sense of depth and space to the subject in focus, i try to take into account the observer's tendency to gravitate towards the points of visual interest in the presented scenario, such as the intersection points of the grid of thirds.
But in this case, it is difficult or even unthinkable for me to try to apply such a technique in an asymmetric scenario such as the one presented in front of the lens, leaving the observer free interpretation of the subject, without any attempt to establish priorities on the visual space registered.
I could think that a certain point would be more interesting than the others, or even impose the way the image should be visualized, but i choose to leave it to the discretion of each one.
The recordings were made at the end of the day, already after the so desirable golden hour, when the dark tones of the absence of the sun took over the light and toasted tones, typical of the place in question, on the Portuguese coast bathed by the Atlantic Ocean.
After several visits to this place, i swear i had never noticed these rock formations that start right in the middle of the beach and extend into the sea.
One day, with more time, i will do a more detailed research on this place, as the type of rock made me curious about its origin.
It looks like volcanic rock to me, but not having knowledge about this type of activity in that place, either i am very new to the matter or history has completely passed me by during all this time.
Having nothing more to add, i hope you liked it :)
That's all for today!
