WednesdayWalk at our Hilltop, Pinagpala Olongapo City that MakesMeSmile
Just by looking at them will truly make you smile too, right?!
Earlier today, we headed to our mango orchard. This place is just a 30 minute drive from our home. We acquired this land last 2017. The first portion that we bought was just around 1,700 sq m then 2019 we added another 3,000sq m. After we paid for it we then decided to purchase the remaining land just so we can get the whole land for a total of 8,000sq m. This was done on staggered payments not just a one time purchase for we don't have that big amount of money guys. We saved and saved until we were able to purchase the whole land and paid everything last year, December 2021. This is actually our third property. Hubby and I invested on land since the value of land does not depreciate but appreciates overtime. Our other two properties are also just near this area. I will share them to you as well the next time we will visit them.
We call it the Hilltop because the property is a Hill that is flat on top, hence the name Hilltop. Pinagpala or translated as "Blessed " in English is the name of the locality. It's like a two-storey high hill on the front side but it's a cliff on the other side. We don't come here that often only when we don't have work as a building maintenance contractor. We come here to do some grass cutting and clearing on the land. Just so the shrubberies won't grow that much and also to maintain the area.
Look at my hubby just enjoying the view. This place is also perfect for meditation because it's quite and since high on top it is very windy. If you live here you don't need any electric fan an AC for you have abundant supply of wind. It never runs out, haha.
We have seven of our staffs with us today. Two of them did the grass cutting while the rest were pruning hard to cut shrubberies and tree branches.
This is Jariel, he has been with us since 2018 (the time we opened our building maintenance services company). A very dedicated and hardworking young man.
This is July same with Jariel, he has been working with us since 2018.
What I love about this place is its view. It has a 360 degree view of the adjacent mountains, The view of the ocean from a far. You can see the neighboring province of Bataan as well. The place makes you feel like you are close to heaven because when you look up clouds will greet you like you can touch them. My heart is always full of gratitude every time we come here. This is in a way our nature therapy. To be out and just be one with nature. Also Our thinking place.
The place is lush with trees both Mango and Cashew trees all growing together. There's so many of them that It's hard to count without putting a mark on each tree, it's confusing since they grow together almost side by side so it's a bit tricky. I had one of our staff count them and we have around 40 mango trees and 22 cashew trees on this property. All bearing fruits but for this year they changed their leaves so not many of them bore some fruits.
This is our huge Cashew tree, nestled on top of the hilltop. Its fruit is very sweet and big. Like one fruit fits my whole palm. So amazing. There were no fruits already since cashew season is over.
Hubby burned the cut shrubberies because mango trees love the smoke to get rid of the insects. Since the leaves are green so the smoke was really thick like clouds.
While our boys were all busy doing their thing. I too was busy preparing for our lunch. I grilled some pork that I marinated the night before and some fresh Telapya fish for our lunch. I cooked it girl scout style. We brought some charcoal and the grill then I placed the grill on two rocks and below are the charcoal and voila! instant grill. Just a simple way of cooking, they say the primitive style... haha. Who needs the sophisticated ones when you are out in the wild. As long as you can make fire you are good to go,
Then it's lunch time..... Everyone was so hungry! We had a picnic.
We ate like Cowboy Style! not fine dining... haha. But everyone was stuffed and enjoyed the meal so much. Such a happy company. Simple and yet so happy.
Then, it's time to head home. We posed for some photos before going down the mountain. Look at how everyone was just so happy. Hubby, our Boss loves to kid around and makes some jokes so there is really no dull moment when he is around.
Truly a productive, happy day that made me smile. Happy memories added into my memory bank.
That's all for now folks. I hope my post also made you smile.
I wish to thank @tattoo-djay for this WednesdayWalk & to @elizacheng for MakesMeSmile.
