The beautiful ginger flower

Greetings friends, I hope you are well. The truth is a pleasure to read your posts, and it feels good to have something to share with you too.

I tell you that in my house we have had ginger plants for a long time. It is a plant with very useful properties both in gastronomy and in natural medicine.

By the way, during the strongest stage of the Covid-19 pandemic it became one of the most sought after alternative medicinal plants in my country.

Of course, and as always emphasized, it is not the intention to present this plant as medicinal, we only refer to what is traditionally attributed to it.

(Before using a plant as medicinal consult a specialist)

Its rich aroma, its spicy flavor and its properties make it an almost obligatory plant in the patios of every house.

And a long time ago I started to make some ginger and honey candies that were very good (later we will be making a publication with this content to share it with you too).

But what I want to tell you about this plant is the following: I had never seen the flower on the ginger plant before.

This season, the ginger plant we have at home surprised us with a beautiful flower bud, which changes as the days go by.

First, it exhibited an inconspicuous bud, which for a moment I mistook for a bad formation in some of its leaves, but in 'metamorphosis' style, it was changing and showing some pleasant surprises: some small and delicate yellow petals.

Then, not content with this, it continued to offer more changes. After getting rid of the delicate petals, the large bud began to adopt a beautiful reddish color, which combined with its original green tone, thus playing a contrast that I, in particular, was surprised to see and know this other characteristic of the ginger plant.

Now, not only can I prepare some oriental style dishes, or get relief from certain ailments with the infusions or tea from its roots, or clear my throat with some delicious ginger and honey candies; but I am also delighted with the beauty of this exuberant ginger flower.

I hope these photos I took with my phone were able to capture the best angle so that you too can enjoy part of this spectacle.

I think this plant is familiar with me. We have the same plant planted in our garden we called it Insulin plant. As far as I remember, it is helpful for those who has a diabetes.

It was great thing that I was able to read a blog regarding to this plant and how it was perceived by the other country. Love its flower.
