Original Poetry: When the lights go out (II)
When the lights go out, my friend,
And darkness fills the sky;
When all the stars are hid from view
And no moon meets the eye;
When the wind is still, my heart,
And silence reigns supreme;
When all the sounds of life are hushed
And nothing stirs a dream;
When the cold is deep, my love,
And frost bites at the bone;
When all the warmth of fire is gone
And we are left alone;
Then let us hold each other close,
And whisper in the night;
For we have something more than light
To guide us through our plight.
