Today, I am going to participate in DIY.
My friends online know I am an educationist and a chef, did you also know that I have other skills and even teach skills acquisition? Let me show you one of my skills. SOAP MAKING.

SOAP MAKING skill in.me, I can say it's inborn. I was trained in school with money from soap making by my mother. I grew up to know her making soap. And as I grew older, she introduced me into making it as well. We made a soap called soda. On some days, she made them while I go to market to sell to retailers.

While on many other days that she felt her customers are not buying much because of her absence, she goes to the market herself and ask me to stay at home and make the soap for the next day's market after my school. That's where I learnt soap making the first time.

However, this soak I posted here is not soda. Rather, it is called liquid soap. A man, taught me this. He learnt from a corp member in his office, he came home and taught his wife. I stood near to learn and for the past four years after learning it, I have never bought soap in my house.

I make liquid soap and we use it to wash the floor, dishes and as you will see, we also use it to wash clothes using our washing machine. At a point, I was selling it too in 5litres kegs and I also added some organic materials in it and sold also for bathing. Haha. Adore, to he jack of all trades.

WITHOUT MUCH ADO, LETS MAKE LIQUID SOAP.

INGREDIENTS
Nitrosol
Texapon
Sulphuric acid
Soda Ash
SLS( Sodium Laurel sulphate)
STPP ( Sodium Triphosphate)
Caustic soda
Fragrance
Foaming buster
Colouring agent
Water

Note:
The measurement for the ingredients depend on the quantity of soap you want to make. Where I live, we go to the market and ask for ingredients for the litres of soap we want. The sellers know the measurements to produce those litres. Hence this post will not have the measurement for each ingredient. I always tell them to give me the ingredients for 10litres or 20litres and and use all, cos it has been measured.

PROCESS OF SOAP MAKING
To make 20 litres of soap, pour 10-15litres of water into a bucket. Add more water later.

  1. Add nitrosol and stir vigorous. 2. Add in bits for best result.( See video)
  2. Add SLS and stir. This dissolves faster when many chemicals have not be added
  3. Add caustic soap and strip well. One table spoon of this is enough. Else the soap might peel the skin of your palm
  4. Add STTP and stir.
  5. Add Sulphuric acid and stir. This was not touch your skin
  6. Add foaming booster. For better foamability. Stir well.
  7. Add colour, mix it first in water and then pour into the soap.
  8. Add fragrance.
Stir the soap well and if too thick, add more water and leave to cure.

I also teach soap making as one of the skills to youths who has finished their JSS 3 exams.

The process is easy. You can try it by weekend. Ensure that all the chemicals are out if the reach of children. Buy and use all. Buy the quantity you need.

This post will be edited to add the video. Watch the video and follow the steps too.

Thanks for reading and watching.

Yours,
Adoore-eu.

Thanks for the compliment. Like I said, just tell them the litres you want to make. The sellers will give you the right ingredients for it.

Again if you are making 20litres, don't pour all 20litres of water from the beginning. Use like 15litres and add more water at the end and stir.
It's super easy.

I remember when we were taught this thing during my final year in secondary school as part of a chemistry project. I did not pay attention.
I regretted that about a year later when I saw my former classmate making money from soap-making!
Thank you for sharing this with us.
