GRATITUDE IS A MUST....
I went to the hospital months back (being at the hospital has a way of making ME take a reality check) and suddenly, it dawned on me how ungrateful I am by not showing enough appreciation to God. I felt guilty. (The many types of ailments, the suffering, people on oxygen and a number of variations can make you dizzy.)
What am I grateful for?
Imagine this, you go to bed and wake up the next morning, walk majestically with the air of an aristocrat, giving off the energy as one who owns his space, or in a more exaggerated way, the universe. Do you ever take a moment to reflect on that and be grateful to God wholeheartedly? That is something to ponder on.
People go to bed and don’t wake up to see the sunrise. I do reflect on these things and ask myself why? I mean I am not the best candidate for perfection, I sin! So why? Then the tiny voice in my head would say ‘its God grace’. It is by no means an entitlement to have life and live it, God makes it possible. So, what am I really grateful for, the gift of life.

Family
When you get the opportunity to be closer to people with next to no “family”, it will make you double think for not appreciating your family enough.
My elders would say “the teeth and the tongue fight all the time, but the live together in the same mouth and settle their differences”. Yes, families can be overbearing sometimes but what Is family without drama, boring. Regardless of the petty squabbles and sibling rivalries, family is the best next thing to happen to us.
Imagine the young and innocent, kids in foster homes, those who lost both parents and have no idea what true family is like, the homeless, who never got opportunity to grow Up in a family setting and had no sense of belonging, also exist. Well, daddy passed when I was kid, but that didn’t make me feel less belonged. I thank God for family, it is a blessing.

Friends
I don’t keep many friends but the few I have makes me define friendship as family.

Means of livelihood
I am nowhere near total financial freedom, but when I see street hawkers who have to hawk minute things like chewing gum and related, I can only be grateful to God for the privilege I have.
What am I REALLY grateful for? GOD, for being God and impacting my life
God's grace is sufficient for us.It's good that we reflect on the goodness of God and begin to show our appreciation.
You've said it all.
