Map Rice Fields and Sunset in Karimunjawa
Every time I come home to photograph the sunset on the coast of Ujung Gelam beach, it occurs to me to photograph the sunset in the Legon Cikmas rice fields. Many times I have passed through this area and seen it beautiful enough to be immortalized.
It is not uncommon for a group of local teenagers to sit relaxed on motorbikes while facing west. The location of this rice field is in line with the Karimunjawa Mangrove Forest. One of the mainstay destinations in Karimunjawa.
There are also those who are riding motorbikes. I don't know, this place seems to be synonymous with illegal racing tracks. I often see two young men driving the motorbike engine and pulling the lever until it stops.
The road in the mangrove is indeed long. Apart from that, the straight path is several hundred meters. This is what causes teenagers to abuse the road to test motorbike speeds without being equipped with safety equipment.
I decided this afternoon to take photos in the rice fields. I have prepared a tripod from Jogja and will see which point I want to visit later. A stretch of yellowing rice ready for harvest. This is the last rice field in Karimunjawa.
The routine of farmers in Karimunjawa is clear. They talked to each other in a resting place, a kind of small open hut with a woven coconut leaf roof. There are not many farmers here, you can count them on your fingers.
Legon Cikmas is the name of the location. The hamlet directly adjacent to Kemujan Village still has rice fields. Elsewhere in Karimunjawa, rice fields are a thing of the past. Lost for various reasons.
From stories told from generation to generation, previously in Karimunjawa there were several places that became rice fields. Nyamplungan and Legon Lele once had rice fields. Now everything is gone. In Nyamplungan itself it has been replaced by a Shrimp Pond.
Legon Lele leaves memories with many stories. The first time I set foot there in 2001, it was very fertile. Fruits such as Pineapple, Krai, and others are fertile, now it is a kind of place without inhabitants.
My eyes continued to look west. I ignore the vehicles passing by. Even the eyes of local residents may be frowning when they see one person preferring to capture the sunset in a rice field rather than a mangrove or coastal area.
In Karimunjawa, the sunset on the beach is truly a beautiful sight. For tourists, this momentum should not be missed. This is different for me, I have taken a lot of photos on the beach, so I wanted to take photos in other places.
I chose this rice field based on my experience. The view here is beautiful when it's sunny. If you really get a good moment, of course quite a few will be confused about whether this photo is in Karimunjawa or not.
For native Karimunjawa people who already know this area by heart, they can easily guess it. This is different from people who have never been to Karimunjawa. Of course, some of them don't know that there are rice fields there.
Have you ever heard or seen a viral photo of rice fields in Kulon Progo? That's the reality. The rice fields which are basically ordinary views have become rare because there are so many towering buildings.
A cow enjoying the afternoon before evening. His mouth continued to chew the grass in front of him without any competition. His body is not fat, not even thin. He continued to chew, filling up his reserves before nightfall.
The tinge of baskara is still dazzling. Rows of palm trees rise high like building pillars. Spread across the corners of the rice fields. Occasionally I look at my watch. Dusk hasn't greeted us yet. Still some time.
The camera is installed, the tripod is upright. I captured the view in the afternoon. Then I got lost in the WAG chat again. We shared photos, talked about afternoon activities waiting for sunset.
The sunlight began to turn yellow. It's still a bit dazzling, but it can be captured well. I didn't waste time taking photos. Take as many pictures as possible. Let's sort things out later. It's important to capture it.
