Tyrese Maxey 2021-22 Donruss/Panini NBA Card - Philadelphia 76ers Guard
Tyrese Maxey is a young and steadily improving guard for the 76ers. He was selected by Philly at #21 in the 2020 NBA Draft so he'll only be entering year three this fall. As of now Maxey is a little raw but that's ok since the dude doesn't turn 22 until November.
Still even in this current 'raw' stage of his career, Maxey has already accomplished a lot and has shown a lot of improvement from year one to year two.
Maxey is not the tallest dude on the court, but he is quite fast and pretty muscular so these attributes really help compensate for his lack of height. Standing at 6'2" though, Maxey does seem to make the most out of his height. He is not insanely short.
I think Maxey is really developing nicely and was a pretty clutch pick by the Sixers considering he was a pretty late draft pick by NBA standards. With the Sixers being a good team and likely continuing to be one for the foreseeable future, they need to select wisely and find talent to pair with Joel Embiid. The Sixers and Maxey seem like the perfect marriage. Maxey can figure out the league while Embiid carries the team. Hopefully very soon Maxey can blossom and really live up to his potential.
This is not a rookie card, but it's still a pretty cool card very early in Maxey's career! I love how the card captures his signature drive style, he holds the ball like a waiter holding a plate of food.
Maxey is already well liked amongst Sixers fans. Maxey is not only a good player, but his play style and skillset is just pretty fun to watch. He is strong enough to drive in the lane and skilled enough to hit a three out of nowhere. In addition to this, the guy is usually smiling and his long hair is always bouncing about. You really can't forget this dude.
I think Sixers fans can just sense what this guy COULD be if he works hard and keeps improving as he has been. He has the potential to be a real star one day.
What do you think of Maxey and this card?
