Titans got crushed by the Colts again on Sunday despite the fairly close looking 38-30 score | Rodgers to Tennesse?
Well, yeah these last few weeks of Titans football have been agonizingly slow and awful. What a better way to humble yourself after such a fun week of Christmas than to talk about this team? At least I have those excellent memories and the Sixers who WON on Christmas, and have been improving in general, to warm my heart HAHA.
The Titans just looked bad, like they didn't want to be there. The Colts ran and scored all over the defense with ease. A lot of those thirty points the Titans scored were due to the Colts pretty much not trying after they were up 38-7, or 31-7. Not sure it really matters.
Yeah I know I said I am against tanking but... now that the Titans are slotted at the number four pick, tanking is looking pretty tempting. A win could drop the Titans in a big way, a loss brings them up to number three! This loser mentality could end up being bad but, the team is ALREADY bad, so maybe the team should make a hard decision and lose? If they win, that will be ok I guess. It's against the Jags so I mean, that's always a decent feeling anyway. Also, it's hard to ask guys to lose in a violent aggressive game. Jobs are on the line too. Can't just show the whole league you can't play. Whatever happens happens at this point.
The whole staff is feeling a bit of pressure frankly. Brian Callahan's seat is warming up and so is Ran Carthon's most likely. I think the Titans should stick with them at least another season because, I just don't see getting rid of them making a massive difference. The team is at such a low point, let's just see how this staff handles a rebuild I guess. Show some type of loyalty during dark times, see how next year goes.
The quarterback situation for next year continues to be intriguing though. The Titans should pick up a vet and try to win and maybe grab one in 2026. But then if they win too much the top QBs will not be available to pick in 2026 either. So yeah. The Titans are in a dangerously scary situation in terms of their future. A second year of losing and genuinely tanking sounds terrible. QBs in any draft year are always a massive gamble in the first place. Time just ticks along all the while.
There's speculation that Rodgers could be a Titan next year which, even though I think he's overrated, he's still not a bad choice. Anything to at least inject life at this point, I'm for that. If the Titans stink well, then that just means 2026 might be a worthy plan.
Maybe just draft a QB, and sign a mid range vet? Levis lingers around in the back? Or maybe start Rudolph next year and still draft a rookie. Take a flyer on both the next two drafts perhaps.
Yeah I mean, not much has changed, not much to analyze. The Titans just keep on playing like trash. It's going to take some front office and GM magic to start something special here. Nevertheless...
