Phillies win their final home series of the Regular Season Wednesday!
The Phillies exploded offensively one last time in front of the home fans, in the regular season that is.
Even though there will be several, if not many, home games to take place in Philly in 2024, there is still that bittersweet feeling knowing the regular season is at it's end. It was the last time the Phillies will play in Philly in the month of September. March to September, a beautiful marathon of a season. It sometimes seems like the season will never end in baseball, until it does. I think it simply just reminds me I'm going to die one day LOL. I pray I will see many more baseball seasons before I croak. I'm so glad the boys are in the playoffs!
But yes, the Phillies treated the fans to plenty of offense on Wednesday. Everybody was hitting. Nearly everyone recorded a hit. Castellanos-Stott batted four and five and they each had three hits. Pretty awesome productivity in the heart of the lineup. Brandon Marsh hit a pretty EPIC three run double that turned out to be critical since the Phils won 9-6! Cristopher Sanchez struggled a bit on the mound but, I am still pretty confident in him.

The Dodgers are unfortunately officially one game ahead of the Phillies for the best record in baseball, and of course the NL. The Phillies have to try and sweep the sixty-nine win Nationals and hope the Dodgers lose one. Like the Phillies, the Dodgers face a struggling division rival of their own in the sixty-one win Rockies.
Thanks to their win Wednesday, the Phillies did secure a bye in the Playoffs, so that is good news.
These final three games will be interesting! The final two NL Wild Card spots are still very much up for grabs. The Mets, Diamondbacks and Braves are all pretty much neck and neck!
Ranger Suarez takes the mound tomorrow in D.C. Hopefully Hurricane Helene doesn't cancel the game. Hope everyone is safe down south.
