Phillies win an ABSOLUTE CLASSIC in Game 2 of NLDS on Sunday | Nick Castellanos + Bryce Harper are certified DAWGS
Every time I think of this game on Sunday I get a bit of adrenaline. What an absolute NUTS baseball game. I may be a victim of the moment, but this was perhaps the greatest Phillies game I have EVER seen.
The Phillies were down 3-0 entering the sixth inning and man things were looking seriously spooky...
But that's when MAGIC started to happen.

It was the sixth inning and there was TWO outs. Phillies best hitters were due up and since it was so late in the game, this was perhaps the best chance they had at getting this win. Turner hit a single and Harper came to the plate. Harper is just clutch. He hits a BOMB to instantly make it a 3-2 game. Amazing. But the magic was just getting started.
TWO picthes later, Castellanos came to the plate and evened the score with a BOMB of his own!!! The Phillies had life baby!! Big time players making big time plays!!
This game's drama was only beginning though. This game was an absolute see-saw. The drama was insane. The Mets showed their own grit and the very next inning homered to take the lead.... 4-3 Mets. Crazy how the Mets have been smashing the Phils' bullpen.
But then Bryson Stott says not so fast!! In the EIGHTH inning he hits a massive two R.B.I. triple to re-take the lead. Goosebumps man. Matter of fact these runs were only possible thanks to Harper getting walked and another CLUTCH hit from Castellanos. Casty was not done yet.... Realmuto added an insurance run thanks to a swinging bunt that ate up their third baseman Mark Vientos. 6-4 Phillies.
The back forth only continued in the ninth after a two run homer by Vientos to tie the game 6-6. I was shook. I mean what is this game???? This inning ended on a sweet sliding snag by Castellanos. My heart could not take it with this game.
But my heart and Phillies fans hearts would feel joy one last time on Sunday. The Phillies were here to SCRAP. This game was a dog fight thus far. Lucky enough for the Phillies though this game was at home. So they had the last chance to bat and boy did they take advantage.
Once again just like the sixth, this game winning run was set up by Turner, Harper and the one and only NICK CASTELLANOS.
Turner was on second, Harper on first and Casty just RAKED a ball down the left field line for the WALK-OFF hit, and Citizens Bank Park went insane. It was like every Phillies fan just won the lottery. That's how crazy this stinking game was man. Inspiring, breathtaking.

Nick Castellanos wants a freaking RING. Player of the game, player of the series if we win. 3 of the cluctchest hits you'll see. Great defense. He has a Kobe-like mentality and I am loving it.

Games like this make me feel so lucky to be a Phillies fan and baseball fan. My gosh. This team does not quit. Bunch of dawgs. This game will be talked about forever. If the Phillies win the World Series, this game will be that much more beautiful. If the Phillies fail, this game will still live on. This game shows to never give up in life I swear.
The Phillies got punched in the mouth in game one. The Mets have been on fire. But I feel like the Phillies have kind of become the underdogs in this one due to the big NY market and big hype of the Mets recently. The Mets may feel otherwise.
The Mets have turned their season around in a big way, and that's cute. But the Phillies have tasted a World Series two years in a row now. It's clear they're still unsatisfied. This deep unsatisfaction is hopefully going to outweigh the little Cinderealla story of the Mets.
Some people have been saying the Mets are a team of destiny but guess what, the Phillies just punched back with their own destiny-like game.

The Mets are absolutely dangerous, but I am PUMPED about this game. I think the Phillies may have humbled the Mets in a sense. This first Mets-Phillies playoff series EVER is really as wild as the rivalry has been for the past century.
The boys will be in Queens for the next two games and it's obvious that their fans are going to be loud. But it's clear the Phillies are built for this. They have to stay locked in though.
Aaron Nola is on the mound for game three later today and if he pitches his best, it is a pretty comforting feeling. Ranger is set for game four and well, that's something to discuss later...
1-1. Two more wins let's go!!!
