Phillies fail offensively, lose series to Brewers | Phillies in the Big Apple to face Mets AGAIN
The Phillies simply failed to show up yesterday when it comes to their offense. Pretty poor timing for Aaron Nola. He pitched well finally after his last two starts sort of stunk and he gets no run support. Unbelievable. AND it was a walk-off win for the Brewers. Brutal.
Alec Bohm homered for the first time since his injury which was nice. Phils stunk but Nola and Bohm showed signs of life, so that's positive.
Tonight the Phillies are in the Big Apple to face the Mets in a big four game weekend series after just seeing them a few days ago. Late in September, can't get much better.
The Mets are desperate for wins as their Postseason hopes still very much hang in the balance. The Phillies are just one game above the Dodgers in the quest for the number one seed AND best record in baseball overall. Division rivals meet and the division is not on the line, but the postseason implications are massive.
Fans all over the country will have their eyes on this series. These games will have impact on many teams.
Just glancing at these standings, the amount of impact this series will have is obvious.
The Phillies are sending out Taijuan Walker to pitch and that's not a promising idea since he's been BAD, but hey he had some rest. Maybe he will be rejuvenated.
Quick post in a bit of a rush.
